Designed in France in the early '60's. The Panhard AML60 was first purchased by the Irish Defence Forces in 1964 to supplement fire support to Infantry units on UN duty in Cyprus. The AML 60 was armed with a 60mm mortar and two 7.62mm machine guns (French AA52's)

Although this car never served in Ireland, it is identical to ones supplied by Panhard. AML's are due to be retired this year by Irish Defence Forces even though most have been re-engined with Diesel Engines and 60mm mortar replaced with 20mm cannon. This particular car is ex Frenche war reserve.
