Sue O'Keeffe - Events Co-ordinator 18 Apr (1 day ago) to depot I have just been reading about your WW1 water Carrier on the BBC website and would be very interested if you would like to bring it to be on show at the weald & Downland open Air Museum in Sussex, We our hosting our ever popular Heavy Horse & Working Animal and this year we are delighted to have a War Horse themed area with contributions from a range of museums and groups: see below War Horse Over the weekend there will be a combination of spectacular World War One (WW1) themed presentations and re-enactment displays to include: Sealed Knot Enterprises, Mounted 16th Lancer display and Andrew Robertshaw, Curator/Manager of The Royal Logistic Corps Museum in Deepcut www.rlcmuseum.co.uk will be sharing his experiences as military consultant on Stephen Spielberg’s award winning film Warhorse. Alongside this there will be a rare opportunity to see a GS wagon and horse drawn horse ambulance in action pulled by the Museums horses. Experience the WW1 encampment and exhibition with displays of artefacts and wartime memorabilia. Also visit The National Army Museum’s trailer exhibition within the encampment area. www.nam.ac.uk/exhibitions/special-displays/war- horse-fact-fiction and a rare opportunity to see a 18 Pounder Gun in action, kindly on loan from Fort Nelson. The event is on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th May in Sigleton west Sussex. We would be happy to pay contributions towards expences.
