austintilly
During the cleanup of his property, my brother found this axl under a trailer. It was an old trailer of a farmer. The axle belongs to a Morris Commercial and one of the tires has the text "Military" on it. What kind of Morris Commercial has this axle? The axle is going to the scrapyard, unless someone is interested....
Runflat
The wheels, and no doubt the brakes, look like they come from an 8cwt Morris - and worth passing on to somebody. Of course these vehicles were rear wheel drive so the axle will be a fabrication. The Humber also used similar wheels, but there may be differences. If not, Richard may want them! http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?16071
Runflat
It seems there are some differences: http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?15744 But Tim was seeking a Morris rim: http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?18928
Alex van de Wetering
Arjan, Please at least save the wheels, hubs, drums and maybe some of the linkages. Indeed it appears to be a set of Morris 8cwt wheels with front wheels hubs....who knows how they ended up in Holland. I think the leafs on Morris springs are tapered toward the ends, so the leaf springs could be from something else. Alex
austintilly
No worries.....those wheels wont be thrown away. We also found some T-Ford rims. It's amazing what stuff was used after the War in The Netherlands, just to make some trailers.
