weasel_nut
Spotted this in a secure junk yard in Maine USA and need help from the experts on this board. Sorry about the poor quality pictures but I was shooting through a chainlink fence. No access to yard. This is some type of Cable laying trailer. Has traces of OD paint on it and 16" NDT tires on what look like Jeep wheels. Looks Military. It is difficult to tell from the pics but it has a claw (hoe) that is lowered down below wheel level and the cable feeds through a hollow channel in the rear of the claw into the ground. The claw is inverted in the total upright postion in the pics. Anybody have any idea what era and specifics on what the trailer is. Is it WWII? Any help would be greatly appreciated. DDoyle
I think that I have some photos of one of these - but it will take me a WHILE to find them. You hit the nail on the head, BTW - it is to place a cable in a trench. Best wishes, David Doyle
