Ken Hi Ken, I think this is a container, converted into a tank. The writing on it looks to refer to Radford Ordnance Works, in the USA, they made smokeless powder. I never thought of it having been converted from something, but that does explain 'how' the outlet appears to be in the middle of the those stencilled marks. Makes sense now - thanks again.
