  1. We have 2 project Saracens at our workshops, a MK5, and a MK6. Both 1955, road registered with the DVLA and in our name. we are currently restoring the MK5, and have decided to offer the MK6 either for sale as is, or are willing to swap it for a different MV project, as we are going to be tied up on the MK5 for some time, and will probably fancy a change by the time we've completed it. If you're interested, drop me a PM, and I'll give you any info, or pics required. Si

  4. Hi all I'm on the hunt for an uncut, and preferably registered Mutt. Please get in touch with a price and picture or two if you have one to sell.
  5. Hi there. What amount of shekels are you looking for?
  6. Can anyone help with either an ignition panel for a MK6 Saracen (stolly, ferret or saladin are the same I think), and the speedo glass and Commander seat? Regards, Si
  7. We have probable one of the nicest, well maintained Whistlers about, and can be seen at this years W&P. Life is too short to stockpile vehicles, so we're thinking of trading it for a Ferret or similarly interesting military vehicle. ours is spotlessly maintained, and fully roadworthy, yours needs to be in similar condition. Pictures on request to serious enquirers. Si 07702 185604
  8. I have a 67 one, tax and MOT exempt
  9. Thanks for the advice, I have that plan as a last resort
  10. Hi all, I've done a quick search of the forum, in case the question has been answered, and even though it probably has, I cannot find it. In short, I have a 67 Reo whistler, painted currently in what I would guess, is period olive drab. It's nothing like our UK OD, and has a tinge of brown to it. I would imagine that it is correct for the vietnam period, but a google search doesn't lead to any UK based suppliers. Could someone be so kind as to tell me what it actually is called, and who would most likely supply it? Kind regards, Si
  11. Earlier this year, we sold one of our RB44's after taking it to the War & Peace show. We had converted it from a GS spec truck, to a comms bodied camper, fittted with twin hobs, sink, bed, fridge etc. We spent 6 months working weekends, to restore it to it's original 32 RA BTY condition, and it featured in the classified section here for a while. We are now under way with building the second overland RB, and having cut our teeth with regards the fitting out of the first one, we're going to town on this one. We are moving away from the military colour scheme, by choosing white as the finished colour, although it would still pass as a UN vehicle, so not completely removed from its military past. We decided on a tough industrial finish, using the U-pol Raptor bed liner as a final coat, as it is impervious to staining, scratching, or chipping. Having stripped the cab out to address any rust issues, and prepare for a colour change, we've just finished re-assembly of the cab, and are going to move on to the roof platform, and solar array, before continuing with the rest of the truck. We will of course be offering the RB for sale upon completion, so if anyone is interested in her, please feel free to follow the build progress on our RB group page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/338948212952918/ The album of the restoration and build can be found here on our workshop page as well: For those that would rather follow the build here, I will try and update as often as possible. 12. Hi Iain. Of course, we have 2 radio bodies at the workshop, you're welcome to drop by Kind regards, Si
  13. Evening all. we recently started a Facebook group page for the Reynolds Boughton RB44 TUH. We run a workshop, specializing primarily in older Land Rovers, and of course the RB44. We run a couple of Boughtons ourselves, and work on a few others, so have got to know them fairly well, as well as having several members in our group that have a great deal of knowledge about them, and of course, parts sourcing. So if you run one of these old beasts, it's definitely worth keeping an eye on the group, as we often document the repairs we do, and the parts we have in stock, or at least where to find them. We've also fitted a couple of radio bodies to the non-ffr GS trucks, so can offer advice in that department as well. Have a good Christmas, and hope to see some of you over there. https://www.facebook.com/groups/338948212952918/ Si Hangar 53 Custom Motor Works
  14. Hi all, I could do with some help on fitting the drop in insulated body please. We're getting a radio body from Withams delivered this week, and would like to be as ready as possible to have it fitted straight to the Boughton when it arrives. Can anyone advise as to whether they locate on any specific fixing points, (ie: a couple of the hood stick holes) or do they simply sit on the back un-attached? (although this seems a bit unlikely) I've tried looking at as many pictures as I can find, and it appears that the unit sits inside the rear buck, thereby ruling out using the rear hoop mounting points. Any advice would be most helpful, as I have a couple of days before delivery to prep the truck. Kind Regards, Si Hangar 53
