A friend is looking for a replacement offside hub for an Arrows 1 3/4 tonne trailer or possibly information on where to go for one. It is possible that the axle was a standard part bought in by Arrows. So anything you might be able to help on. The problem is that the brake drum is cracked.

    cheers Richard

    Richard,

Is the hub required if only the drum is cracked.

I assume, that if this hub and brake drum is used on more than just the Arrows trailer the NSNs would be the same in the illustrated parts catalogue for each trailer. If I'm correct, it may make a replacement hub/drum easier to find if the Arrows drum is common to one or more other makes and/or sizes of trailer.

Plan B - If, the drum is unobtainable, cast and machine a new drum or even a pair.

  2. As countersunk carriage bolts aren't listed, one possibility is that the bolts behind the gutter are tighten until the heads are flush with the face of the wood. Using a flat bit drill to make a shallow hole the size of the washer would give a flush head without damaging the surrounding wood.

What intrigues me is - do they have engines as both as give an engine size of 0cc?

Might be because the engine size is simply not known.

Richard, before your post I had already asked Brightwells, does 0 cc mean no engine or simply cc unknown.

  4. If, the Ministry plate which is usually riveted to the chassis frame on the nearside, is still on the trailer, it maybe possible to trace through the DVSA the owner at the time the trailer was last tested. Assuming that the DVSA can help you, it would be a starting point to find the current owner.
