Is there a maker's name on the tank?
Being only a small tanker, I wonder if it was used on civil airfields.

To edit the title, left click and hold anywhere in the title.

I think if the tacho is broke you cant get like for like these days you will have to fit a digi tacho.
A quick search shows that there are a number of analogue tachograph repairers.
If the lorry is manufactured before 1st May 2006 then you may use an analogue tachograph.

Not that it makes a great deal of difference to the diameter but from your photo I see that it is 6.70 you are looking for and not a 6.50 tyre as in the title of this thread.
This tyre is a 175R 13 and has a diameter of 24.21" which is nearly 1" larger than 185/70R 13 :-
Does the non mixing of radial and cross ply tyre apply to trailers or just cars etc?
-
Using Blockley Radial Tyres as an example for the nearest radial to the 6.50 x 13 tyre. Blockley information from this link:-Tyre size Section Width Overall Diameter185/70R 13 7.48 23.23Your Current Tyre:-Tyre size Section Width Overall Diameter6.50 x 13 6.50 23.4Rim width does effect section width but not does not have much if any impact on the overall diameter, more information here:-A potential problem is that the radial tyre maybe too wide for the rim.I hope, that this helps rather than confuses you.

An very interesting link.
I wonder if all the soldiers escaped from the DUKW (if this is not one of the other 2 that sank in the same area) before it sank, with other than the sole survivor they then drowned before rescue arrived.
The DUKW looks in remarkable condition.

Just change the wheels. No idea how they operated though. I would not think that they had much traction or stopping power but that is all part of the fun.
One of the Land Rover conversions to run on rails, others used guide wheels but the tyres provided drive:-
Even the military had an experimental Land Rover conversion in 1963:-

A promotion by Land Rover, a Discovery Sport to pulling a 100 tonne in 2016:-
Series Land Rovers were capable of pulling fairly heavy loads so the Peerless may have performed reasonably well:-

I kick myself when I think how we got rid of my fathers uniform which was splendid with chain mail on the shoulders however I still have his brass buttons with the crest on them.
At least, you have saved some of your father's history. How many others have sold, given away or just dumped something only to regret it later, I know have and not just the once!
Another attempt to get ahead of you but I'm probably still in second place .
The first 2 links are reports from local papers. The son and grandson of Lovat Scout piper Bill Millin are in 2 photos in the first one.
The other 2 links maybe a source of information.

If all else fails, could you declare it to be exempt, e.g.exemption 17 in the link. Once you have an MoT have the tacho calibrated.

As, I was too late with The Highlanders' Museum, I expect that I'm also behind you in suggesting the IWM

Have you tried The Highlanders' Museum?

The Tank Museum should know what the periscope was used in.
Is there a date(s) on the periscope? A date would help you cross reference to one or more vehicles that were in service at the date.
Have you contacted the Royal Museums Greenwich to see if they can help with the type(s) of vessel?

Re: Haverhill Generators by phil (Member 10120231) on 5-Nov-2004
Stuart I have diagrams for most of the haverhill units if you still need them.phil@clar50.freeserve.co.ukAs it is 14 years since the above post and in case you can't contact Phil, this might be a useful site:-
https://www.generatorguru.com/haverhill/
Also, if you search "haverhill generator pdf manual" there are a number of sites but you have to create an account (I haven't so I don't know how good the sites are) before you can download the manual.

The "Director Aimers Monocular Sight" is part of a gun sighting system from a naval vessel.
There is a similar one in the Royal Museums Greenwich:-http://collections.rmg.co.uk/collections/objects/205483.html

I now can't get them back together so is there a trick to this? I'm sure I've got the yolkes paralell and the splines have engaged but it won't go more than about an inch.
Possible solution here:-
Also, check that there isn't any foreign matter in the tube, especially between the splines.

What ever size tyre you choose, if you are fitting them yourself please remember that the first time you inflate the tyre a split rim wheel can blow apart even if you think that everything is in place and this has resulted in serious injuries and even be fatal.
How inflating should be done:-

On a close look I can't see the pulleys either.
As it is being advertised as "A rarely seen complete guying kit", is it worth contacting the seller to confirm the contents of the kit or lack of?

If no luck, have you seen this?
More kit than you need but you would have spares or some to sell.

This is the one that I post in "Heads Up For Sale", not a genuine military Dnepr but it might suit your needs.
For auction tomorrow.

Most of the commercial tourist DUKWs have been greatly changed from the original army design.
So, it is a case of the original being well/over engineered to most of the DUKWs now being under engineered.

I wonder, how many DUKWs sank inWW2 because of the sea conditions and how many were destroyed by enemy action.
What goes here ?
