Just a quick question, apart from the odd morris 1000 traveller, does anybody know if any ex military cars from the late 60's. early 70's survive?
Also, as one of my interests is buses, does anybody know what happened to the domestic fleet buses of the 70's?
a long shot I think, but you never know

Morning all,
as we seem to have a military fire thread here. I wonder if any of the Bedford TK/HCB Angus "Midi" are preserved?
When I was at a ATC camp at RAF Manston, before the museum was opened, I was privilaged to be given a guided tour of the sheds, the above appliances were used for driver training I think, usually towing a trailer pump.
Thoughts please
Mark
PS, mods, can we have a seperate section to cover fire, police ambulances of all nations/eras please?

The pictures look good Mark
are you going to put a full hood on and get rid of truck cab ?
or leave it as it is?
and what state was it in when you got it?
Ian
Ian,
will put a full ffr tilt on it, need a tilt and the bits that go over the cab, and what you see is how I got it :-D, apart from the wing boxes (they are larkspur, not clansman and will be replaced as and when) Got all winter to source parts etc.
Will leave the truck cab on over winter

Stick more than 16 seats in the back mate!:cool2:
got D1 plus D1E aswell!!!
First in Stoke have a load of polish drivers, apparently some are good, but some.....!
There was a rumour that a polish driver went the wrong way round a roundabout!! But they hushed that one up!!!
Heard also that Arriva tried to use Polish drivers in Welsh speaking Wales, somehow I didnt think that would have lasted long!!!
Mark (former First driver, then saw sense!!!!)

Morning all,
can I ask a question of all the knowledgablepeople on here? (or the rest of you for that matter!!!!:-D).
can you drive a wartime heavy vehicle, ie Matador, Dizzy T, Hippo etc on a car licence? If you tow a trailer with a Landrover on it, do you then need a HGV/LCV licence?
awaiting the results from deep down to avoid fall out!!!
