I had been wondering if the original post was referring to van Dam's yard. These Militants have been standing in the open for over
10 years and are likely to be in very poor condition indeed. I can remember being told of van Dam having row after row of low mileage MK 1's available in good condition but that was many years ago.
If anyone wants a MK 1 they might wish to consider Richard's gun tractor which I believe is being offered for sale on this forum.
It would be great to see some 'photos of these bikes posted here sometime. In the meanwhile, check out this YouTube vid.
Just out of interest, were more HD's employed by the military than Indians ? As has been mentioned in previous posts, there always seem to be more HD's around.
Unnecessary cropping of photographs, the use of metric, and not imperial, measurements and Mr.Wares observation that "no Scammell Constructors have survived in preservation", oh really ? "Tugs of War" could have been so much better .
