  1. have had another look at the front end today, there is a mag/distributor on it, the inlet manifold is broken off, so no carb, but it might be in/on the ground as the front end was upside down before it was righted recently, the radiator is there along with the rear axle.

the condition is slightly worse than the one you are trying to restore !

i will be back on sunday morning with a camra and will post the pics on here :-D

  2. although mine had been running for some years like this with the previous owner, when i stripped it out i found the bores in good fettal and they only needed a honing, 6 yrs ago when i did this the parts (pistons, rings, little ends, big ends, mains and full engine gasket set) came to £100 from jeep parts, there was nothing wrong with the bearings, i just changed them as i had it apart

    good luck

  3. Hi Graham

I am new to the milweb scene so I would appreciate any help or guidance you can give in tracking down Crossley fwd spares or current owners, I am afraid I dont yet know who stinker or pete are but they sound like interesting characters!

Are there any Crossley FWDs that are restored or being restored at the moment? I know of the crash tender at cosford and a queenmary tractor at Winchester but thats all and niether have the general service cab which is what I need to copy for mine.

I also need a contact to have the front wings copied or maybe modify some Matador wings? ideas on a postcard to 'upto myneck in rust, andbushes, Hants.'

good evening, i have had a chat on the blower with them at Tinkers Park and they will be looking into it at the weekend, they`ve moved it but do not think they have scrapped it, they will ring me back and i will let you know

    regards
