  2. well  after investing that amount of money l do not think l would be hanging around if it is as bad as that l would be doing more than asking for advice . l known there are cowboys out there and l have met some of them l would not trust to work on a wheel barrow the one used on  building sites. And like others l could list them

  3. I am sorry to hear this it not up to you to rectify any of the problems you have paid for a service and in your opinion have not received it any reputable company should do the upmost to rectify valid complaints. Over the years l have been asked to inspect military vehicles for a number of reasons for the police  insurance companies as well  as solicitors acting for disgruntled clients with such problems as you have indicated .  In a number case's both parties have come to a amicable arrangement with out the need to go to court go back to the restorer and make it clear you are not HAPPY with  jeep and what you would like done to rectify this unhappy state of affairs

  4. When you contacted this [ restorer ] did you give a written instruction of the work you required or did he give you one. if the work as you say is not up to the  standard you expected have you  contacted the restorer to express your disappointment. As a  last resort you could employ a independent engineer to inspect the problems you have  found. Sadly these people do pop up  from time to time and often give the impression of having the skills to do the work to a high standard.

  5. On the subject of footage of the stalwart   FRVDE had a 16mm film of the stalwart which showed shots of the alvis factory making the hulls for saladin and others the factory trails of the prototype stalwart 2020RW cross country trails and the sea trails as well as shot of things like towing a 5.5  and a { broken down} centurion the whole thing runs for just under a hour and l just have watched it

  6. If W& P happens in 2023 it will never be the same a lot of trust has been lost by  the present owners and once lost it is very hard  to regain it. l for one enjoyed the early days and gave me  like others the chance to meet  friends that  were from other parts    what ever happens at W&P there is no doubt that it will change yes the  die hard' s will still go . There many smaller event's that are a mixture of types of vehicles and good they are and l am sure some will grow

  7. ANDY do not worry just a good job  they never  worked for me in a museum l would have sent them to the workshop to get down and personal with one. Any way clive will have just as much as the RLC but if you want to pay thirty five pounds play their game ask for the history for a humber and give it's BK NUMBER no mention of armour  and l bet you would get it.

    REGARDS WALLY

  8. I would like to put a foot note as l have more than a passing interest in the history cards l rang the RLC museum to find out the state first l talked to the lady curator who had not a clue what l was on about then put on to   the lady archivist l enquired was the information on pigs there the cards are held some where else l asked the location she said who was l and what l wanted to know for l explained who and why she became defensive and rude l still did not get a answer but they now know pigs are soft skin vehicles and they have the cards l suggested that more research was needed on their   subject matter This seems to be the norm in modern museum

  9. Thank you for your comments l have three sets in the same condition  l am  going to give one set to the young man with the ferret who lam helping in the hope it fires his interest in military vehicles in the future
