  5. Just a few pictures off the camp site. Please bear in mind we have not cut the grass, this will be done closer to the time. The first three pictures are of the front hard standing , Dragons teeth and the grassed area for tents and wheeled vehicles. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4891.jpg[/img] http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4890.jpg[/img] http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4892.jpg[/img] The grassed area exstends right to the very edge of the wood and back to the hedge. The pub is just behind the big hedge. The next three pictures show the veiw looking from the grass back to the woods. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4895.jpg[/img] http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4898.jpg[/img] http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4896.jpg[/img] As you can see this time of year it can get a bit wet. There are plenty of gaps in the trees to set up your tents, vehicles and cammo nets. The next four pictures show the rear of the wood and the rear hard standing. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4912.jpg[/img] http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4908.jpg[/img] http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4911.jpg[/img] http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4913.jpg[/img] Once again there are plenty of places amongst the trees to set up your tents if you wish. It does mean a bit longer to walk to the pub and back again. The last picture is the road that gives you access to the rear of the woods and the grassed area. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r183/plainmilitary/what%20this/IMG_4915.jpg[/img] So guys and gals thats about it, it don't come much wilder than this. We will be placing porter loos in and around the camp site so no need to bring shovles. I will leave it up to you to fight it out who gets the woods and who gets the grass area. Personaly I would like to see all the tracked vehicles bloking all routes through the trees but its your weekend, and your choice. Tony
  6. The MOD are well aware of tracked vehicles coming on this visit. As long as we stay on the stone tracks they don't have a problem with it. Last year we had two tracked vehicles with us, a FV432 + FV434. I have given Bob at West Down everything he needs to know including the use of tracked heavys which the CMDT has given us his approval. All he asked me for on Friday was how many vehicles were coming. Tony
  7.
  8. Cheers Larry I will tell my bro he needs a Dutch Cammo net. That will please him as nether of us no the best place to get them from :dunno:
  9. Are you still looking for some where to leave a low loader till Kemble?
  10. Ok scrap that maybe a Dentist then, Trap 3. Or a Challenger 2 tester on the Bovvie DTA
  11. Jack can't have your name and the Plain Military team on there as well. :box:
  12. Ash wot you mean should, you have to be there whos going to keep Jack under control :dunno:
  13. Don't like the sound of that Tone, please don't say there is a knack to putting one of the 12x12 tents up. Dave Im thinking we are going to need another trophy mate. who can get it up the fastest. :help:
  14. Your scared, I live next door. :nut:. The limp is and old bike accident before anyone says anything.
  15. Here you go Mark. The Bustard Inn Shrewton Salisbury Wiltshire SP3 4DU The post code is for your sat-nav.
  16. I have noticed that the British Army are starting to use more of the three tone cammo nets. I have just purchased one that feel of the back of a lorry, literally. No good for the light weight but will look good over the command tent.
  17. A new computer would be nice, and if Santa is feeling really generous maybe he could help me put my rusty light weight back together. Tony H
  18. E pens for Spitfires. The ones we have on Thruxton airfield don't have doors on them so I am problebly wrong :banghead:
  19. Can we bring the light wieght or is it just WW2 kit. I will see the rest of the team if thats OK.
  20. Nice one guys. I will be shutting this tread down soon and starting a new one with less posts. Mark if you can make it for the Monday that will be cool. The word is the Army will be moveing into the area some time Tuesday morning so we really need to be of site by Monday. If all else fails I could have a word with Roy in the Pub and see if you could dig down in the pub garden for one more night.
  21. I have always woundered why they are called light weights. Even with the doors and top bulk head removed they are still as heavy as a standard Landy. :dunno: :dunno: Next question, Dutch arial mounts? are they easy to come by? He would like to put it back as an FFR. The one picture I have seen, the mounts look totaly different. If all else fails we will put a set of Brit whips on with side mounts. As for the nets I had a look on the PM site and found I had some pictures of modern Dutch vehicles on there. The nets look as if they are made up of three colours. Dark green, light green and brick red. :dunno:
