On a 101 like most instruments there only there to keep the driver amused and fill a hole in the dash board. Speed is normally judged by the noise from the front axle on overun. For those who have never heard it scares the pants of you the first time.

Worth a try it,s just that my mate has changed his tyre size to 900-16 on a series 3 but then found he was 10mph out on his speedo so swopped it for one out of a 101 and now it is spot on.

I thought that they were different due to tyre size mines r/h drive but has a km speedo i may be wrong

If you are running the show next year it might be an idea to maybe ask Julian from the powys and mid wales mvt to maybe get us lot involved as well with the organisation as i'm pretty sure theres a few of us who would'nt mind helping as for our display i can see what you mean about it being a bit uninviting to the public and i will try and bring this up at the next meeting it would be a real shame if it was'nt on next year maybe what it needs is a real rethink of the whole show and what direction it could go maybe even get the people involved from Oswestry who organise the 40's event that might be an idea pm me if you do want to chat about getting us involved and i could bring it up at the next meeting.

i'm afraid to say what a shambles if only the shropshire mvt got there fingers out and worked together this would be a graet show i myself took 3 vehicles and 2 trailers as i am part of the powys and mid wales group display which really is the only real display to look at to be honest if it is on next year i think that i'll have to think long and hard about making the effort again!!!

I had exactly the same problems as you've described and i changed the condenser and points .....jobs done works great :-)

I was looking at my vehicle history document that i was sent last year for the 101 and on it there is a word under unit title saying ADPCON and next to it a date 21 june 1982 does any one know what this means??? :whistle:

Sorry to here mate but you'll be pleased to know that the ferret prices have been stable and stayed around the same prices since i got mine 6 years ago .....chin up :-)
