TCV'S were mainly used by the Inf Brigades in UK Armd Divs, they were used to transport the Inf from op to op. The Mechanised/Armoured Inf Battalion in the Armoured brigade in the Armoured Div used to move fast with the tanks by passing a lot of resistance, and the Inf Brigade troops were used to clear these pockets, then leap in their TCV's and catch up then start again.

The main reason the Light Dragoons were late in converting to Bowman is that the said system isn't very CVR(T) friendly, especially in the Veh harness dept.

We used to have fun a Ponteland Ranges just outside Newcastle, we had just been issued laser binos/rangefinders and we used to point them at aircraft coming in and out of Newcastle airport which is next to the ranges. This used to upset a lot of people as it made the aircrew think somebody had a missile lock on them.

The radios they use are 320, 349, 350-1-2, ie inf sets and L/R with 353 fitted, the current problem I have is Our main sponser 5RRf are Bowman and their PSI CIS is not Clansman Current.

I don't know the date when they changed, but it was when the Danes took over the role of Force Reserve Sqn and they took over the Vehs as well as the roll. The UN took over the vehs and gave them UN regs.

The helmets are the pre 1980 steel AFV crewman helmet, these are very similar to the WW2 para helmet (no rim) without the harnees, they only have a 1" elastic chinstrap, I've got one in green from the old days in my shed. "For sale" :whistle:

I remember, I know this is not a veh error, what about the small arms in Star Wars (another premiere me and Alien saw in Leicester Square), such as Sterlings, MG42, magazine less Lewis Guns.

Some of my colleagues and mates think I've lost a slate or two, spending most of my spare time working with kids, at times it can be 200 plus of the young ones being looked after by 10-12 adults, especially when some mates/friends can't stand looking after 2-3 kids of their own.
