  1. That thought occured to me as well Bernard and there might be another one next to it.
  2. Jules, The leading rear axle is still fitted, you can see the wheel.
  3. Make him an offer he can't refuse :-D
  4. Agree with you there, having seen the pics of CW under the engine in the confined space, afraid I would have trouble doing that sort of thing now, with bad back and stiff knees :shake: Best of luck, CW, guess you are going down tomorrow?
  5. Thats it , give Degsy a headstart as he is a bit slow on the keyboard  Sorry mate, I will hold back next time, to give you a chance :-D
  6. and would the deliberate mistake be lining all the ring gaps up ? Would not get oil to the top, but loose compression to the bottom :-D
  7. Would that be the illuminated magnifier, so that you can read the workshop manual ? :-D
  8. Ahh...that explains why there were a couple of people standing opposite watching :-D.
  9. I wonder where that bit of film came from, real period stuff, going by the other traffic. Leaves you wanting more
  10. At the Workshops, years ago, we had a Climax Rock Drill trailer mounted compressor with one of the Meadows 6DC engine in it, the output was enormous. I thought at the time, as we used to get a lot of Explorers in for repair, that it would go well in one. Also had a lot to do with the four cylinder version in the 27.5 kva gen set, had to hand crank those as there was never any air in the starting system.
  11. Andy, I am going on my recollections of working on Meadows diesels, and the rocker cover looks the same.......but on looking at the left hand photo, I assume that is one of yours (?), the cover is the same, but engine looks shorter. Is it possible that one is a different model / size engine?
  12. You refering to the purple Scammell? Looks like a Meadows to me.
  13. As is the price no doubt :shake: Are you going to get the pump checked out for the delivery to that cylinder, or will you just change the injector and see how it goes?
  14. Clive, I can see you have an eye for business
  15. Carman, I knew that would draw a response  Take a look at this; http://www.royal.gov.uk/output/Page2648.asp
  16.:rofl::rofl: and when they have washed up Jack, they might put a new battery on your GMC :-D
  17. I am not sure now .....it does not look like a Mack from this angle, as first thought. Looks bit like its from a generator, compressor or something, paint colour looks the same as the K6, is it?
  18. Hi Carman, They got you sorted out then........good to see you on here
  19. There used to be a wonderful model, of about the same scale, of a Morris Commercial CS8, in a cabinet in The Tank Museum, far more detailed than the Austin models seen tonight.
  20. Does that barge weigh 1,000 tons? That old 3LW would struggle a bit
  21. Difficult to say, from that angle, but vertical bars remind me of a Mack or an Opel Blitz, need to see it from the front really. this is like one of Clive's Mystery Objects"
  22. In this lower photo, there is a radiator surround to the left of the truck, it does not look like an Austin one, have you photo of this part?
