The photo was from 'The Modelling News'
Construction Review: 35th scale Model W.O.T. 6, WWII British Truck from ICM Models

Looks like someone has made a bloomer then, unless some early WOT6 vehicles were different in the cab. I think the machinery truck was not in the early contracts.

I know this is a long shot but does anyone have an engine cover for my Fordson wot6....?
Thought I would ask before I start to make one just incase there’s one gathering dust and long forgotten in someone’s garage 🤞
It is not something you can replicate easily as it is a rather curvaceous cover. I dont have a photo of the one I worked on unfortunately. The only other Ford that is similar is the WOT8 and I suspect it is the same, but they are much rarer trucks.

It looks to be US made instrument. With a recording of revolutions I am guessing for an aircraft but could also be from a tank maybe

Begging time if any one can help. I need a replacement wiper motor for the Militant tanker.
One of these. Looks good in it's new paint, but the poor thing has seen too much service and is worn out. Just about works on the bench, but can't do a wiper blade anymore. Just leaks air.
I've had it apart, hoping there would be seals that could be replaced or something, but the main gubbins inside fits metal to metal, and too much of it has worn away over the years.
I know they were a standard fit in a lot of stuff, so if anyone has a spare in the back of the shed I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance
Have you tried oiling the internals, they were supposed to be done about every 6 months. It might be due to too much friction, unless it is worn out of course.

Hi Mick,
You are probably right, I have not heard a Goon Show for years now.
Hope all is well with you on The Island

I used one of these on a Humber Snipe staff car many years ago, looks more in keeping than a plastic inline one and better filtration. Unfortunately I have no recollection now of threads.

Is that Eccles from the Goon Show driving? Perhaps that is where he met Spike Milligan whilst recovering his runaway artillery piece 😀

Considering VE Day was during lockdown so much more was planned and went on.
Ok, we arent out of lockdown yet but restrictions are relaxed a lot more you would have thought more could have been made of VJ Day.
The Forgotten War sums it up.
I have just watched an hour long ceremony on the web commemorating VP Day at the Australian War Memorial. The Master of Ceremonies is a good friend of mine, Warren Brown. Here is the link;

Ah well, I would not believe everything Mr Ward tells you! 😉. Anyway he is miles away and will not know.

Granted it was a bit warm for face mask, goggles, and welding gloves but I thought the better option than wandering around outside with a six foot metal pole with a strimmer blade on one end and a pint of petrol on my back at the other while the weather was doing a fair imitation of the opening scene from Mordor (Lord of the Rings for those that think I've lost it.....or perhaps it's heat stroke
)
Pete,
I can think of a better plan, give yourself a day off, get a comfortable chair in the shade with a pint of cider or beer and enjoy the day, there is always tomorrow, and you can plan that while resting in the shade 🍺

I have to agree with Bob and Tony. At the anniversary of the end of WW1, as a resident of Ashford, I attended a ceremony beside the original MkIV Tank that has stood in St. George's Square since driven there in 1919. This excuse of a replica and its 'crew' were present, but luckily parked up the street a little. It has to be said it was an embarrassment and not needed with an original one present.
I was at the Gt Dorset Steam Fair last year with three pretty good replicas present and they looked the part and had no problem with them, it was something to see three together and driving.

Hi Jerry,
Good to hear, it was about 42 years ago when I was working on the C4.
Regards Richard
-
Looks like a late one as it has sling plates on the hubs.
Back in late Seventies a friend rescued a C4 from a dealers yard near Sissinghurst in Kent. I did a lot of work on the engine and gearbox.

I think my willing assistant is wondering which of the wheelie bins the chassis would be best placed in. He is clearly not a bus (or lorry) enthusiast .
Looks like your assistant would sooner be down the pub 😉

That would be the one that Noddy from the SEME historic vehicle collection used to take out to rallies. I remember having the honour of taking it from Bordon to a steam rally at Petersfield in the mid 90's.

Have you used a complete J60 distributor or put the module in the original Ferret one? If this is a J60 dizzy the centrifugal advance will not work due to turning the opposite direction.

? Would a chain instead of the v bracket still work?
A chain would not push the door shut

Jacksmum, as Clive confirmed in your other topic, yours is a Rubery Owen made. Judging by the registration it's around 1970-ish. These 2 ton 4 wheeled trailers were made by a number of different makers in two types, the earlier being narrower track. They were used for a variety of purposes, as office trailers (signals, mobile labs, etc. etc.), stores, or there was a flat version often with the Meadows 27kVA generator mounted.
Hi Sean
the Meadows generator was on a Sentinel trailer, this trailer was used for a number of roles, they dated back to the 50”s.

I can see your dilemma!

The J60 in the Fox did not use the speed limiter function, so no issues there, just go along with Clive’s advice.

Try Joes Motor Pool, they make body panels

I would try Speedy Spares near Brighton as they specialise in Rootes spares. They have a website. Or try John Walker bear Nottingham, he dies autojumbles and deals in gaskets

The cab interior photo here is the one I worked on, dashboard to right of steering column. I recognise the seat cushion as it came with my ex-Danish QL and was rock hard!
