  1. Both bags IDENTICAL other than the LONG bag as a pop studded storm/wind flap over the zip. Labels however are different- So question is was there a STD 58 Patt bag and a COLD WEATHER version??
  2. Will have to double check but sure my LONG sized one is described differently on the label and also has a pop closed storm flap over the zip???
  3. Did a quick search and couldnt find the answer, which type of trs please would be worn over these? Thanks
  4. Any ideas on this please? Thanks to my rubbish camera i cannot show the true colours but quite different from "std" DDPM items.
  5. I gather there were different lengths of bags but were there any variations in pattern/design?
  6. Both items extremely rare and have never seen pics of either in anyones collection.
  7. Just had a look at 1 of my 60 Patt OG smocks and that has an AZF zip on it.
  8. Definitely not a Union Jack, probably one of the many TRF patches used by various units. Is it me or does the label look plasticy/vinyl in the pic?
  9. Checked them all, majority are CLIX but a couple of NZ ones as well-which have HBT tape to them.
  10. Hello Gary, dont think there was a regulation size and some were also square i believe. Will double check my book PAINTED STEEL POTS to make 100% sure.
  11. Would say that is too small to be a Parachute Regiment DZ patch.
  12. So the mystery continues as to what these zips would have been used on? However regardless of make, still pretty sure they would be suitable as a damaged replacement zip for a 60 Patt smock.
  13. In light of finding out they are so short price reduced to £6.50 each.
  14.:blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush: Sorry guys and feel a bit of a divvy. Only pulled a couple partly out of the bag so thought they were smock zips--------- On closer inspection they are short-17,18,19 inches long with the longest being only 20 inches. Any ideas what they are off-too long to be trs??
  15. If its just the smell thats bothering you how about spraying with something like Fabreze?
  16. Back in the days before the internet and Ebay pretty much my only source for anything military related was the small MILITARIA section at the back of Gun Mart(which i subscribed to for 10+ years) and a few mail order surplus outlets and SOF for WW2 and Nam stuff.Back then believe it or not the humble 68 Patt DPM Smock and Trs were as hard to come by as 60 Patt DPM is now so anything i saw that i could afford i bought(along with some other pointles, weird and wonderful items). I hate to say it but to me 68 Patt is 68 Patt is 68 Patt-i have NO INTEREST whatsoever in the different makers, zips, colour or print type etc i just snaffled up what i could afford when i saw it and am now going to whittle everything down to 1 unissued smock and trs and 1 used set that fits me. Ebay has been a double edged sword as far as collecting has gone, wish i could go back to the good old days sometimes.
  17. Not after any more 68 Patt im afraid, will have a think if i need any other bits. Will dig all the zips out tomorrow and check for length and makers etc. Thanks
  18. Theyre £8 each including postage. Only took a few out to take the pics so not sure without checking them all if different makers and possibly different lengths.
  19. No idea where these came from but just unearthed a bag full of Unissued Heavy Duty Combat Smock Zips if anybody needs a replacement for a damaged zip.
  20. Will do. Great not going out on Sat night and getting bladdered, save a bit of money and no killer hangover on Sunday so i can trawl through my various stashes of kit:cool2::cool2:
  21. Nice One,Thanks. I am constantly unearthing stuff bought many many years ago so some nice surprises when im finding stuff i forgot or didnt even know i had. Last count 10 68 Patt Smocks and around the same in Trs:nut::nut::nut:
  22. Cheers, only reason i mentioned RADAR was regarding those distinctive shape and colour buttons. Either way,a smock i love as it has evidence of being issued;)
