The argument I had with my local Plod sometime back was, 'You say I can't have them. Why? Regrdless of your directives and guidelines the Law says they are not firearms. As all my de acs are Proof House marked, well what are your qualifications to judge? The only ones who are legally and entiltiled to decide are the Proof Masters, so where is thier report! I got mine back after that. Though give them thier due, the Coppers involved who had to actuallly take them away were very embarrased. Those who remeber will also note , nothing wa ssaud about my real ones.

Thank you guys.

A number of OY's and a couple of Morris 15 cwt ended up being used by the German's in the Channel Islands. A number of them then went on to be used by farmers after the Liberation. I can remember queues of them waiting for the Mail Boat loaded with round tubs of Jersey Royal potatoes in the early 1960's.
-
Um. Given current situation, my thinking is When is the next boat back to Jersey? We never were part of the EU. By the way, did you know it is still illegal for a woman to eat choclate on the top deck of a bus? Supposed to be salacious. Last one out , turn the light off, we don't want the claimate heating up anymore.
To quote the old lawyer's joke. Definition of Reasonable?= Our pay cheque.

What you say is quite true , however 'chancers' - to me there are a few versions within vehicle circles.
A friend (deceased) of mine , intelligent (public school , county supported) , then salaried county 'official' , his words to me was always "information is power". His step-dad had the village petrol station so he was always motors inclined. His main interest for over 50 years was doing the deal , K9 was largest he would take on , Jeeps, Land Rovers, all MG and Spridgets. When computers and forums came established - if he ever used it would be at work/library ?? His whole business plan to me seemed faulted (buy cheap, sell top$) , his working £ capital was always tied up in unsold stock-in-trade , I always commented - take up river club fishing and learn the pools , also if you take up spinning - don't try snatching. Some people never learn , I doubt if the profitable deals balanced the loss deals. However - the benefit was he loved touring the countryside meeting people with similar interests - what price do you place ?.
Yes, but dealing is fun ! My last three Disco my P38 and my new toy a V8 199 Disco 2 ES, all the bells and whistels, registerd LPG , now modified are all built from bits of others. My current Disco has parts from last one on it. The V8 would have been an eye watering price when new. Buy cheap and fix one out of three, by the time you sell the working one and the spares left over, you can make a profit.

Thanks to all! Problem now Solve-ED! It is in the input side of the fuse box, output is fine, so a quick removal of fuse and shunt through two in line fuses to output and I can SEE again. 😂 So far only taken 18 months or so to get it up ready for MOT, hopefully in next couple of weeks roll on snow! I have a new toy.
By the by- For the first time ever, phoned insurance company , got modified Disco it had registered LPG conversion, no problem, got winch- Mass hysteria! or quotes of £1800 plus! So thought stuff that! Quote without winch around £400, second car so no claims etc. So went to Specailist- A Plan at Newbury full comp plus usual extras, most included except legal cover- £606 That includes Off Road and Green Laning.
Thier motto I was told 'The weierder the bettter'. So worth considering.

Not my understanding. The Great Repeal act will come into force, then any legislation that Parliments wants to mirror will have to be reinstated . That after all was the argunment for BREXIT to get away from EU law. My bet is that there will be Cherry Picking , but in the Coach & Bus industry , a lot of things will change straight away , not least the status of my licences outside UK.

BIG BIG thank you!!!!! To 10FM68 your a life saver, those wiring manuals you sent me , I now know where to look. Will be Sunday before I get a chance to work on it, but at least I now have an idea where the problem is. 🤗

Thank you Mon V looks like the one. 😁

Hang on. Dosen't all EU regulation automatically lapse when we leave? Theres been enough squaealing and whinging about it from variuos Intrested Parties.

Yes bulbs, yes fuses, yes switch- There may be the problem, that's why I want the diagram as bypassing it still dosen't seem to work. However, being Land Rover there is a coustersey light function on the BCM, and my Hawkeye is presently on loan. 😖 so that may be it. I want to identify the wiring put in a straight line to bypass that section

Anyone have a copy of this please? Got a V8 Disco 2 , on LPG! No dipped headlights,. I cant find the diagram and it is driving me up wall as I want toget the beast MOT'ed ready for any bad weather . Thanks.

thats interesting!. So if all the owners were t send in letters rather than e-mail. the records would end up in a warehouse and no one would look at them?
AH you climate wrecking babarian! Think of all the poor trees ripped up to make the paper, and the pollution pumped out by power station to operate the Royal Mail 'Green Vans' the depletion of rare earths and all the mining pollution that occured to get them.. and the traffic congestion to ... Send A Letter?: Then all the landfill to get rid of them. The land the warehouse sits on could be used to site a wind farm, or Solar Cells or just have pretty flowers on through Re Wilding.
Makes about as much sense as the rest of it.

OK mate, next time I'm up yard I will have a look at make. The vehicle came from Steve Rivers at Dallas, try him.

Post soem pictures of the interior. There are someetimes marks of fittings that can give a clue. That's how Nightmare's QL was recognised as a Y Service vehicle.

I have a 51 with and a 54 without. To be honest on the milage your likley to do, or the times you may use 4 wheel drive. Are they worth the cost?

The law states A De-Activated firearm is NOT a Firearm'. Though in my case the local Plod had to have it rammed down thier throat before they finally accepted they had no right to take mine off me and gave them back.
-
I still own my pistols. The offence is pocession, so on the form I deleted the part about transeferring ownership. The law says I can own them, just not pocess them.

LOL my local saddler 🤣 I might have to travel back in time for that!
not many of them where I live, I will try to have a look though, the rivets I have are either to small or too big, and the only other ones I've found are the wrong colour, thanks for the advice
Thas were we Carrot Crunchers truimph over they City Slickers! The do also patch canvas for us, and supply proofer, fix leather. Very useful people. 😁

There was also a lot of stuff dumped in the south. Hurd's Deep of fAlderney.

Have a word with your local Saddler, they may well have something suitable about, and the gadget to fix them in.

What I did was take a sample of the closest colour to what I wanted off the original vehicle, took it to my local Dulux who coulour matched it. That way you get new paint with a hint of the vehicle having worked for a living. I use the Metalsheild mixed for me, then you get the best of the new without it looking 'Straight from Showroom. The paint can be sparayed , brushed or rollored. Remeber the military reasons for paint 1 Protect metal 2 Camoflage 3 Apperance. They can throw in a matting agent, so you do get an egshellish finish, but it much easier to clean

The reason that military engines are detuned is simple, the lower the power output the less stress on the engine components therefore the engine lasts longer.
One reason you never know the quality of fuel you are going to get. Better an engine at low power running than high performance stationary. Add the Squaddie factor, flat out trust in the Lord, and it gets expensive.
