  1. Not that I'm familiar with this topic but I have read somewhere that some WWII guns for the British were made by Fabrique Nationale in Belgium. Is your gun (turret) therefore coded FN. I live only 40 km from this gun factory which is located in Herstal. Maybe there is a possibility then to contact this factory for parts ...???? There is also http://www.spitfirespares.com having some lancaster parts.

  3. I do not have the expertise on the gearbox but it is leaking some drops somewhere. The whole box is greasy and dirty (see pictures) which I believe could be grease from the propeller shaft universal joint. Anyway, there are some oil drops hanging at the underside of the box and there is some oil on the cross member between engine and box. The box looks dry from top to middle, but from the middle downwards it looks wet. Checked all the bolts are tight.

The box is working properly and smooth. I wonder where the leak is coming from and where to start the job? Could the oil even be from the engine? I have looked in the manual but didn’t find any oil seals in the sectioned drawing of the gearbox. Could it therefore only be a matter of changing oil papers? And how about the bearings regarding the leaking? Could someone advice on this topic please!

  4. Hello,

Can someone tell me how the capping on the very outsides of the tailboard is fitted? From behind most bedfords look like the capping has the full height of the tailboard which would mean that either the capping is behind the top angle iron at the inside of the truck or the capping is shorter at the inside to fit the angle iron properly to the tailboard? I don't know if it is correct at my truck.

    Thanks,

    Danny

  5. Anybody an idea how the back plate of the tow rope box/tool box on a bedford MWD is fixed? The plate has a folded edge to the inner side of the box. I assume it is welded in a way, either on the inner side or outer side of the box or maybe the folded edge is spot welded?

    Thanks,

    Danny

  6. Found some pictures on the internet of, what I believe, Maurice his bedford.

The (lucas) diff light (as a field modification) could be mounted with the tow tube tie bolt on the rear cross member as presented on the left picture; if you look closely to the other picture you can just see the switch at the bottom of the rear beam, on the left side of the pass sign.

  7. Jeremy,

Thank you very much for the pictures. I appreciate your spending time helping me with the clip.

I can see that the downwards iron piece fitted to the front board is at a certain angle related to the top section of the clip. I believe this angle as well as the position of the carriage bolt is important to let the clip work properly. If this is not taken into account the clip will block the sideboard from drop down.

Would it be possible to consider this with the measurements.

    Regards,

    Danny:thumbsup:

  8. Hi guys,

I've just posted a new thread (bedford mw restoration project 2012/2013) with some new pictures of the project. I've added the pictures at the same way I always do but now they are added as an attachment which I can't be viewed. When clicking on the attachment a invalid attachment specification is given. Anybody knows how to open the attachments? Who can explain and what to do to present the pictures!

    Thanks,

    Danny

  9. Took this felt grommet from the rear cross member of my Bedford MW. I like to use more of them together with a cotton wiring loom for fixing the modern lights on the rear. Anybody an address for felt grommets or anybody knows how to make them yourself like the one below ?

    Thanks, Danny

  10. Hi Duncan,

As promised some pictures of the vacuum connection for the wipers and pressure vessel.

Vacuum connection on the inlet manifold

    P3211866.jpg

From the inlet manifold to a 3-way assembly. Two plastic tubes (which should be rubber I think) for each wiper.

3-way assembly (the metal tube in the right upper corner going to the pressure vessel)

Hope this is what you were asking for?

    Regards,

    Danny
