  3. As it happens I didn't , but I do now ! :-D Truck added as No: 361 Link You don't happen to have any other photos of it do you ? (Could do with the Reg Number) Many thanks Vulture
  4. I'd be up for it, provided it was held with 150 miles of York, otherwise the petrol cost me for is just too prohibitive..
  5. Chaps Still haven't heard back as to when new stock is due in... Will update next when I have more info. Richard, as for the reason for the seal when there is a drain, poses a good question . In heavy rain mine leaks from somewhere in that area. Thus far other things have attracted my attention, but its something I'm intent to get the bottom of, other than for no reason that the water drops right onto the laces on the foot that's on the accelerator :nut: so I end up with a shoe full of water ! LOL Kind regards to all Vulture
  6. It's a great idea in theory:cool2:, but with fuel prices the way they are:shocked:, I wonder how feasible the idea is in practice.... :-(
  7. Errrr, I'm not sure, what's the Reg ?
  8. Hi Scott Yes I have it recorded as No: 218 Registration: UNN788X Link Thanks for posting anyway though, your photo is better that the main one I have . Would you mind if I used it ? Interesting front arrangement on this truck, with the double can holders, off-set width sticks, double tow eyes and box over the winch. Kind regards Vulture
  9. The goods news is that I've heard back today from a gentleman called John at Old Chevy Trucks. The bad news is they are currently out of stock of the rubber seal, although some are expected in. I am going back to ask when. They have the cheaper foam seal in stock. Myself I'm not interested that type though.
  10. Great photos Thanks for sharing  Kind regards Vulture
  11. The Annual 40’s Open Day in the Valley Gardens in Harrogate has proven to be a very memorable day for the past two years. Children’s activities attract many to the park. Numerous military uniforms, 40s outfits, army vehicles, and old cars add to the atmosphere. The Magnesia Well Café and Hales Bar staff dress in 40s style on the day. The Old Magnesia Well Pump Room Project and the Committee would like to thank everyone involved for their efforts and contributions. To view photos of past events please visit our 40’s Day Gallery here. To book a stand, please contact Jane Blayney (Chairman) at 01423 505231 or by email atjane.blayney23@gmail.com
  12. Chaps How about some photos of the event for those of us who sadly couldn't make it ? Kind regards to all Vulture
  13. Gentlemen I'm sending a E-Mail message to Jim Carter tonight, to a: a) Check how many seals he has in stock. b) Get an estimate of the postage cost for 5 and then 10 seals. c) Check out what the difference (if anything) is in the fitting between the rubber seal and the foam one. Happy to put in a 'bulk order' NOS and 25 pounder I've got you pencilled in for 2 each. If anyone else is interested put a posting here. I know a few people with GMCs not on the forum, so I'm going to contact them over the next couple of days to see if their interested. When I have all the costing details I'll post my findings on here, and then PM those concerned and firm things up. Kind regards to all Vulture
  14. Gentlemen Now I'm on the verge of sorting my Windscreen seal out, time to move onto the next issue/challenge. The seal in my Cowl Ventilator on my CCKW has degraded to such an extent I cannot make out what is was or how it fastened in place. Can anyone provide any guidance/pictures and any suggestions on who can supply a suitable replacement ? Your thoughts would be appreciated. Kind regards to all Vulture
  15. Must confess I didn't. First I've heard of them. Didn't see any Google links to them either. I take it you've used them and found them okay ? Cheers Vulture
  16. Chaps I short update. Tried a total of 6 suppliers (including Cliff Harris) and failed to get anywhere. Ended up with a company called Dugdale's. They have a range of products under the title of 'Rubber Extrusions' Link. After chatting with the very helpful owner on Friday I settled on a product 'R40 Windscreen Section' and ordered a 9ft length which arrived on Saturday. It's not quite as long as the one I've taken off, or as thick, but it fits just fine, and should keep the weather out.:yay: I'll upload a photo at the weekend after I've finished the job (ran out of time today).:whentitsdone: In the meantime here is a recent shot of the truck in front of Cliffords Tower here in York that I'm quite pleased with. I've entitled it, 'The Historic and The Ancient -
  17. Looking forward to seeing it at the Yorkshire weekend Stu Vulture
