  1. Have you got (if it uses one) a head gasket or valve problem? Only when the Champ went on the road for the first time Lots of running problem no power when hot and two split silencers due to a blown head gasket.
  2. Good luck Mike lets hope they got it right
  3. You'll get wet :rofl::rofl:
  4. According to my old hepolite catalogues there were 3 variations of pistons used 1. 3 ring piston with 2.. 1/8 wide compression rings & 1... 3/16 oil ring this I belive is an early type 2. 3 ring piston with 2...3/32 wide compression ring & 1...3/16 oil ring 3. 4 ring piston as 2 but with an extra ring below the pin I can get hold of a set of standard size cord rings for the 4 ring piston
  5. Booked the time off work I think that there will be a few champs there
  6. QUOTE=00EC25;126706]Oh CW if only they would silence Stirling, the borders would be so much nicer :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: made my day :rofl::rofl:
  7. Seen to be a bit slow on some threads?
  8. Bearing N1090 not available or Bearing 3/HJT45 not available There's something special about these but can't find out what it is It may be a matched pair. 9. The other clips are fasinating. I need a bigger computor screen at work to watch them :cool2:
  10. That would explain it Hoffman "n" numbers & R & M prefix numbers are specials Almost certainly made to closer tolerances than standard production
  11. All my catalogues are at work I suspect that someone has assumed that because the bore size is the same that they are interchangable
  12. Its the same bore size. The latest catalogue listed the 28hp & 214 petrol as the same piston. Catalogues are not always right :cool2:
  13. There would appear to be several variations on ring & pistons that could have been used over the years. You need to look to see if there are any numbers on the piston crowns, Hepolite used to cast a number inside.You mat have to remove a pistion to check whats bee fitted. Long time (1965/6) ago I built an engine for a Bedford SB coach and seem to recall that there were two different block hights. May be Richard will comment on this
  14. As richard stated you realy need to look at the old bearings to get the correct numbers. From the information so far MT7/1960 45mm ID x 120mm OD x 29mm width Skefko 7409 Hoffman 545ACD where did you get Hoffman N1090 Cant find any imformation on N1090 Bearing 7409 is avaliable MT7/2974 same as Pioneer t/transporter R&M MRJA60 roller journal 60 x 130 x 31 mm is avaliable LV6/MT7/2017 (Hoffmann No R380L) is available LV6/MT7/1979 (Hoffmann No 580 CDS) no information yet PM sent
  15. Hepolite made the "apex ring" as you say a three part ring sold lots when I was doing engines 1965- 1990. I feel old now :-D
  16. Could probably get hold of a complete set of rings if you need. Still got the my old Hepolite catalogues
