  1. I know they can be a pain to work on, but they certainly have a lot of advantages over a Landy.

Look at the suspension on a Champ, look at the suspension on a Landy? That says it all really!

They're not that difficult to work on

  2. Chris,

They do state that it will seal cracks and leaking core plugs, as well as rads. The company is down your way, at Plumpton, website is www.kalimex.co.uk

    :)

I'll have to give it a try. Tried most other things. This is on the E type not the Champ. I was in one of their stockists to day

  3. Hi Stuart,

Cooling system sealers have come along way, modern ones do not solidify in the radiator core, like the old Barseal "dog turd". Those things were a curse where someone had a persistant leak and they kept adding another one to the rad. One I use now is K-Seal, which has ceramic micro fibres and copper in a solution and will only seal where it finds a leak.

Would it be any good for a cracked block thats been brazed/welded and is weeping?

  4. Have you got your bit of asbestos ready?

That firm in the Midlands who do the brake pipes also make a repro pig exhaust system. But I've never seen one in use & don't know what it consists of..

Is this supplier know for champ bits?

  5. According to my old hepolite catalogues there were 3 variations of pistons used

    1. 3 ring piston with 2.. 1/8 wide compression rings & 1... 3/16 oil ring

this I belive is an early type

    2. 3 ring piston with 2...3/32 wide compression ring & 1...3/16 oil ring

    3. 4 ring piston as 2 but with an extra ring below the pin

I can get hold of a set of standard size cord rings for the 4 ring piston
