Be fair Karoshi they borrowed the engine design from GM
-
Amongst a lot of other wishful thinking  :-D
-
The flat head V8 engine was used in the Ford WOA cars and WOT range of trucks (8cwt,15cwt,30cwt, 3ton 4x4and 3ton6x4) and also in the Bren carrier. The engine was based on the pre war 22hp engine but for military purposes was uprated to 30hp. These were the old RAC ratings, BHP rating was 85. I can't confirm the no of studs but since it was a cast iron unit the bell housing was probably the same.
Hope this helps.

How do you mean, THINK :-o :-D

Emotional is right and so humble, a great pity that the efforts of this gentleman and so many of his generation are now ignored or even belittled by so many people today.
-
Can,t say what the Army used but the local Series1 experts reckon 25psi for 6.00 or 6.50 crossplies, hope this helps.

Well done Jack, but who told you :?
-
I think AD may be right on this one Jack, the springs are a well known weak point.
-
Good value, Land Rover retail price £100.00 plus vat

Theoretically it would increase the fuel consumption and it will also cause excess tyre wear, the tyre will also run hotter which can lead to a blowout and if it's a front tyre that blows it could be catastrophic. Incidentally you should always check your tyre pressures when cold as the pressure increases with heat generated when driving therefor giving false readings.

The British are poor linguists, most people expect everybody to speak English, probably something to do with the old Empire when more than half the world was cooured red on the map. :-)
-
Well done Joris, thanks.

That brings back painful childhood memories
-

Hi Joris
something wrong with the above thread on Other Chatter, my name is there but no message and your last post is missing altogether.
-
I think someone mentioned in the last Windscreen that they had hired vehicles to the BBC for Dr Who filming
-
Neil £2 per litre seems a bit high for Supreme 30. I know prices have risen and it is a while since our last delivery but we were paying less than £1 per litre in 25 litre drums.

Mmmm, old farts maybe but never forget the old adage, 'There a'int no substitute for experience' :-D
-
Good choice Joris, that's the Mack I mentioned in my earlier post
