  1. It failed to meet the reserve and was not sold on the day. I havn't heard that it has sold since. Steamers seem to be selling slowly if at all at the minuite.
  2. Tim et al Here is what a complete (mostly) 4 wheel Eagle trailer looks like. This one is works No5 and was rescued from under a hedge in Warwickshire, though it has been alledgedly preserved for some time. We estimate it to date from 1913 - 15 from what we have learnet so far. Many thanks to Steve for the wheels back, the hubcaps are going on this trailer as two had gone walkabout in its time in Warwickshire. The frame is currently waiting to be shotblasted. The springs are new, and the axles shackles etc are all done ready in primer and are awaiting the frame. Rubbers are the next costly problem. The steam engine referenced above is seen here unsheeted at a local event last year. New in 1915 to a general haulier, she was comandeered by the WD in 1916, we guess used for something like baling fodder for horses. By 1920 it was back in civvies. The trailer in this picture is a 1920's 'Carrimore' but pretty similar to the Eagle.
  3. Hello I'm Hedd Jones, I live in Market Drayton, Shropshire but hail from a place called Ruthin in North Wales. I'm not particularly a military vehicle enthusiast, just found this site by accident looking for an identity of a Diamond T that father used to fetch a trailer once. My main interest is steam engines and Austin 7's, I own a running 1915 Marshall Steam Tractor, a 1920 Fowler Steam Roller (under restoration) along with a 1930 Austin 7 Saloon (currently broken down again!). Father was/is both a scrap man/dealer and enthusiast so he had quite a lot of stuff over the years which I grew up fetching, delivering and selling at autojumbles etc. Most of the stuff was pre war and veteran and was moved on to fund the restoration of the Marshall. Cars, lorries, spares etc etc. My current project is my Fowler roller, so far I have fitted a new firebox, boiler barrell and tubeplate, and perhaps in 12 months time I may have two running engines. Also on the go is a steel 4 wheel trailer mady by Eagle Engineering of Warwick, it is Works No5 so is likely from the great war in date (it's on Solid rubbers), hopwfully we will be able to use this behind the Marshall once complete. I'm afraid I will not be a prolific poster, just the odd post here and there.
  4. Which one is this Steve? Seen at Smallwood (Cheshire) 2010 I'll try and huntout fathers slides of fetching the 1st lot of parts you bought, from off the mountain in Penmaenmawr. All the best Hedd
  5. The WD Foden was not part of the Eastnor Castle collection. Its privately owned by Dennis Brandt who bought it over from France many years ago. Its a lovely thing, rough as a dogs arse, probably just like how they were.......
