Clive, that is a wonderful and a very generous offer and I would like to accept on behalf of all of HMVF members. I know what it is like to have the need to share information, by the sounds of it, it could be of great benefit to everyone. In the past I have been so frustrated by people who aren't willing to share or pass on information . What we can do is to create a 'library' section so everyone can share and post this sort of information as there are so many clever people out there., the topics can be made a 'sticky' so that they don't get moved. No worries about dyslexia, I will sort that.

I wasn't brought up in the army but from a child I have always been surrounded with its history especially WW2. I can remember bunking off school to watch the Hermes come into Portsmouth on its return from the Falklands war and I can also remember 'leaving' school to attend the opening of the D-Day museum at Southsea which was also the 40th aniversary of D-Day, that day has pretty much stuck in my mind as there I was a young lad mixing and shaking hands with all of these veterans. I never thought that one day I would be part of the movement that is now keeping history alive. I adore it.

Ok, the whole the GMC now has its red oxide coat! It has now started to rain :twisted: I am running out of time here as I have to move house this month so I going to bolt everything back together and get the pulley sorted out and I might just have to drive around in a red GMC for a bit :twisted: :twisted: :evil: ...........but it will be green for remembrance day, hopefully :roll: I intend to spend the winter taking it to bits rubbing everything down again and the get sprayed ready for next years season. Well that it the plan for now :oops:

What I mean is that it has flicked the 'switch of interest' in a great deal of people, it is then up to the individual to use his own brain and do the research.

Matt mentioned BoB in one of his post's this evening and it got me thinking about the series. Without doubt this series was truly something else and unquestionable it has flicked the switch in many peoples brain for WW2 history. This of course is only a good thing, but, this is only a snap shot of one company from hundreds of thousands from around the world, from WW2 up to the present day, now I can understand why we aren't making films from present day conflicts. But with the amount of awareness and interest that BoB has created about WW2 (in particular the US story) I get rather frustrated with the fact that the British films makers aren't doing the same. There is so much that the nation could learn from these films!

Hi Matt. I will be able to help you out with some figures, as you may know, we import from the US all the time. Companies like Fedex, UPS and DHL provide a great service if you need some documents sent over in hurry but forget them if you are looking at bringing in some freight, 64lbs would be freight. We use Seko a fair bit http://www.sekoworldwide.com/ but I will have a better look when I am in the office tomorrow and see what the costings are. Cheers. jack.
