Yep, not forgetting the mods, or the cannon fodder as some might say! Whats the news?? Could you whisper it at the bottom!? :yay:

Got a loverly shade of Olive Drab 15 for the old girl (MV not Mrs!), came from RR motor Services. Would this be OK to use on my engine block? Or is it not heat resistant enough. If it isnt any good, what is the best bet? :?

I have been following the Virgin Soldiers article in CMV mag very closely (having recently acquired my new toy) and didnt realise it was the same Jack who has built the GMC and looks after us all in this superb forum! How you find time to do it all?? Anyway a big hats off to you for providing an invaluable resource to all us tinkerers/fools/spanner-bashers. :-D

For anyone out there interested there is a Morris Commercial over in Norway on Ebay. He hasnt put it into the MV section of ebay so as yet it has no bids! Starter bid is £300, he is also prepared to help with shipping over to UK. item number is 120063633815.
Bidding ends tomorrow. ;-)

He probably doesnt need double glazing either! ;-)

Do any of you know the modern day replacement part numbers for dizzy and rotor arm, if they are still available, if not, how can I get around it. (Uprated to electronic ignition by the way) :?

I'm sure I came across somebody on Ebay yesterday doing paint for canvas, they were called specialist finishes or something like that.

Thanks for the offer, a certain Mr Wheatley has also offered his help ( Can I assume MorrisC8FAT), but if I get stuck I will be sure to get in touch. ;-)

Being a bit of a doughnut sometimes, I bought a manual for my 4 cylinder Morris GS, only to find it was for the 8 cylinder version! Well done me! Can anyone tell me the correct torque settings for tightening the head bolts and the firing order from the distributor cap. Many thanks :?

Any Red Oxide spray? There was a bloke in CMV magazine who said he regretted it, ( you may be here!) why??? :?
-
Has anyone tried the Metal Ready gumption? Is it any better than a good coating of Hammerite rust primer? One thing people could clear up for me is what primer treatment to use, red oxide, if so why?

Tell you what....I'll bring a couple of handfuls of loose change round your house and you can shake the fuel tanks! Thre's 2 of them and they are fairly hefty, how about it?? :-D

Cardiff City Councils waste compactors- fantastic! Ive got the key card details of the vehicle which give me the engine number and the serial number, but if you can add any more info I will be very grateful. W.D. number is 46RA69.

Has anyone got any hints or tips how I can clean out my fuel tanks? They are galvanised tanks, with what appears to be a built in reserve. They arent really rusty inside just got a load of ancient farmyard dirt/dead rodent remains etc in them. Thanks

I found on the internet a site which seems to identify vehicle number plates for British Military vehicles. http://www.fleetdata.co.uk Has anyone sent off for one of their booklets for their particular registration series. If you have, how useful was it, does it give any details of the original unit or regiment? Or even better has anyone got details of reg numbers for the RA series of numbers, so I dont have to put my hand in my pocket!! :-D

Probably should be in the stupid questions bit, but where is the gallery?? :?

I met Ken Dodd after a show once. Was going out with an ex-diddy man at the time. I would like to point out at this point tho that all diddy men were female, just in case you had doubts....and he gave me a tickle stick. Not very military I hear you cry, well its amazing what damage you can do with a feather duster! :-D

You think thats bad. I thought my other half had loaded up an old Atari Asteroids game, been looking for a joystick for an hour. :-D
