Any recommendations on what I should do , if anything, about using additives etc for the go-go juice for my little Morris. Bearing in mind its a '44 truck. Someone did say I shouldnt need to use any additives as war gas was so poor. :?

While Ive got your attention, have any of you replaced the oil filter element and if so what make and part number did you use? :?

Seems like no hard and fast rule then! Any recommendations on paint make- will the engine get hot enough to need an engine lacquer? Obviously the cylinder head will get the hottest so have already done that in a hammerite dark green. ;-)

Yep, a '44 C8, thanks for that.

I may be showing my ignorance here, but why do some pictures od the Dodge have one headlight grill a different shape to the other? :?

Yes, but if someone offered you a sherman...................... :-D

You must spend 24/7 on here!
From what I know you can drive tracked vehicles but you need a tracked vehicle licence. Also it needs rubber pads. Im sure the PW brigade will put me right there.

Hmmmmm...Is that just British engines (1940's) or does it apply to the US ones as well? My engine is covered in traces of OD, I thought they were painted in blue if they were rebuilt. Mine had a major overhaul in 1956 yet there is still loads of OD on it?

Have you tried a google image search?

Am quite happy to write the odd article using my limited knowledge, but everythings a learning curve! Everyones more than happy to share or update stuff about their restos. What about a more personal section about the people? I have been tring to find out what happened to my grandfather in WW2, usual thing, never talked about it and had medical discharge just before Dunkirk. Always a mystery. His dad and 3 brothers who lost their lives in WW1. Where did they go etc.It might be good to share experinces of how we found out and done the research so others could find out

Im looking for anyone in the South Northamptonshire or North Bucks area who not only may have an MV but also know of/ have access to vehicle storage around the area. I know some people used to store a couple of MV's down at Bletchley Park, but I dont think they are there anymore. Ive also seen a CMP floating around locally at a couple of shows during the summer. Failing that if anyone is interested in sharing storage on a farm or somewhere let me know and I will try and find somewhere.

Good to see we are all on the same wavelength! Could hire some special effects people to recreate some falling artillery just to add a bit of spice!

6x Shermans
6x Tigers
All fitted with some sort of infra red laser battle system
A very large and wood and a field
A large group of friends who all want to play silly buggers....
Not too much to ask for
I wish you a very Christmas
