  6. Spoke with terry till from the MVT today . he confirmed he has spoken to the DVLA Policy dealing with my case , They confirmed to him that they didnt want tracked MV's Running on the roads . This is been brought up at there next committee meeting in November . As I have only been a member of the MVT for the past 6 months I have no experience on how the MVT handle affairs but hope that they dont take DVLA's actions lightly . As the Main association for MV's I would like to see them take on DVLA to protect all Military vehicle owners.
  7. Standard cvrt head lights have no markings and are over 400mm from the outside of the vehicle . For road use they have been modified with hella e marked lights that have been placed 350mm from the outer edge of the vehicle . on the rear the lights are less than 400mm from the edge of the vehicle and and e mark however there is no rear fog . a standard e mark fog has be fitted . standard military reflectors have no markings so additional e mark reflectors have been stuck on the rear . C&U lighting regs is a simple conversion for someone wanting to road register a vehicle . Secondary braking is also present by the means of a hand operated lever the operates a totally different set of discs and brakes that the main foot brake . Hope this satisfies dvla and yourself .
  8. I can accept points that if a vehicle is not compliant then it shouldnt be registered . This post was started because in my opinion the Stormer meets C&U and is within width . why I want it road registered is irrelevant however I will explain . I Live on a country road I can store the vehicle at my house . 500yards up the queens highway is my access gate to my off road course . Am I expected to low load it every time I want to take it out when I should be able to road register it with DVLA's own Guidelines . Just because some pen pusher in the DVLA have decided they dont want to register MV's everyone has to accept that decision . Bullsh-t dvla cant just make the rules up as they go along.
  9. Year is 1996 and the width is 2.50M to the millimetre Its nothing to do with the vehicle as he has told me that all tracked MV's were registered incorrectly . so that affects most of Us . Now dont thing that because its registered it dosent affect you because last year there were many stretched limos that had there registrations revoked . All had to be sold abroad. I have a JCB that defo dosent meet c&U yet its registered . As are many tracked plant . My Gut feeling is they have been told not to register MV's do to the current terrorist threats. Current intel is that they are expecting a mombai style attack According the the local Mcr Manpad team.
  10. Heres the crazy thing lets say when it was manufactured it didnt meet C&U whats to stop you modifying it to meet C&U . There is no such Test C&U DVLA registration has always been a self declaration . Someone dosent want these vehicles registered
  11. Stormer has 2 braking systems same as all the cvrt's . Lights meet C&U except rear fog light which can easily be installed . Lighting regs is a very simply modification . This is just another DVLA dont want to register so wont . I have replied that this is not satisfactory and want to appeal the decision and the vehicle is available any time for dvla and vosa to complete a c&U inspection.
  12. In previous posts I explained I was trying to register a cvrt stormer thats within width this is the dvla's latest response Dear Sir, Further to our telephone conversation yesterday I have been informed by DfT that the Ministry of Defence have advised that the vehicle in question does not meet the full requirements of the Construction and Use Regulations 1986 and the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989 and these vehicle were never intended for on road use. Whilst DfT are unable to provide a full and detailed breakdown of exactly which areas the vehicle does not comply with the Construction and Use Regulations, I have been advised that these vehicles do not meet the full requirements of Regulations 15 & 16 of the Construction and Use Regulations with regard to braking system requirements, secondary braking requirements and having two independent means of braking. If you require more detailed information of how the vehicle does not comply with the Construction and Use requirements, I can only suggest that you contact the manufacturer for further information. I hope this is helpful. Regards

I bought it direct from the Texas Police dept . And collected it myself and drove it down to Florida . Had a Blast as the only thing they removed was the police radio . Lights PA, Sirens Gun Racks Ammo lockers all left in .

Was my point as well . they sent helicopter over and spotted stormer HVM . police officer said pilot **** himself. Think they are embarrassed that they have only just found them.
