  1. Maps and/or plans I have a few dotted here and there, if anyone (RR) would like a copy, pm and i'll send across after security clearance. TR Offer has now expired. :-(
  2. Where would you all like to go on the next trip?? We can do more ww2 sites and some of the napoleonic stuff. It's your call.
  3. Are you refering to the plastic bags for storing documents under vacuum??
  4. Another trip can be arranged for any weekend basically, as far as I'm concerned. There is more of the WW2 stuff to see and then there is all the Napoleonic defences also in the same area. With most of the Napoleonic sites, access is far easier, no sliding through little holes. Its more of a ramble in the undergrowth, but this time of year is great because most of the vegetation has died away making it a bit easier for all to get around. I've a good list of places that I'm still to recce, so by the next visit i should have hopefully 3 or 4 sites to add to the list of 'places of interest'. I enjoyed the day even after walking straight in the back of Steve whilst walking towards the 2nd deep shelter, he commented that his brake lights were not working at the time!!
  5. The sites visited (in order) were, Hamonds tunnels (oil mills) upper and lower, then onto a very windy Lydden spout battery, we checked out the plotting room and a couple of magazines, then to St.martins battery and deepshelter, then over to south foreland where we had a look at the y shaped magazine and plotting room and deep shelter 1 then a strole down to the Fortress plotting room and deep shelter 2 and then the final stop of the day was the Z-rocket battery deep shelter, located on the cliff top. :-)
  6. We shall post up a few more pictures when I am home (Paul), joy of the 4hours on a train is ahead!! nice to meet you all and a Great day had by all

  8. Thanks Richard for the offer, i think i have too many people for your vehicle, so we shall make our own way over in the polo. I thought the head gasket had blown as it was leaking oil quite badly, turned out to be the oil pressure switch, so i had that replaced along with the cam belt, so 'penny' as she is known, is all good now. Please everyone leave enough time to get to the meeting point, as time is of the essence and as Sir Paul stressed, it will be dark by 16:30 hrs. I think our regular public house is gonna be in for a shock when we all march in there afterwards, usually covered in chalk and mud!! :-D
  9. Yes.please check ole bean, will be a pleasent day out for all involved, please dont miss out, heh!
  10. 5?? is that all you have? currently running 16, but as you are aware i dont really wear me helmet that often or for that matter actually use a light (apart from the exposure pics) sparingly anyway!! hahah Edit that: I use your beam, haha  were just messing around, ignore, sorry for hijacking the thread.
  11. Yes, i'll grant you that, you have a nice beam, but i have more raw l.e.d power that you!!
  12. Dear o dear, Sir paul is showing off again!, they are a nice unit but i spent a fraction of the cost on one of these off good ole ebay : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Super-bright-12-Led-Head-Light-Handlamp-Torch-16037_W0QQitemZ150057016849QQihZ005QQcategoryZ16037QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item150057016849 For under £6 you cant go wrong !! :-)
  13. Pauls lying, its gonna be really dodgy, with collapses everywhere, not for the feint hearted( only joking) ,be good to meet some of the folk from here :-)
  14. This sounds like a plan then, I think a trip to Dover would be good for starters, there are many accessable places there of varying difficulty (entrance wise), as Paul says a hard hat and a pair of decent boots and a pair of gloves wouldn't go a miss,. This time of year is best really because all the vegetation has died away. If there are any places you would particularly like to see, please mention them..Opps, please bring a torch or two!! People intrested: Sir Paul Tunnel-Rat Mark Richard Rosser ArtistRifles
  15. Well, Mark ole bean, meet up with us and we'll show you things you may not of seen the like of before!!! Oh, and by the way Jack, its 'underground' not unground mate!!
  16. Yes, i went out to them a couple of years ago, I know the guy who runs trips out to them , very intresting structures,. An artist spent a couple of months on one of them last year, cant remember his name for the life of me. The website for the trips can be found here http://www.bayblast.co.uk/the-maunsell-forts.htm
  17. Bit late, but who cares,. The Webmaster has recently updated the site, comments always welcome to Con or myself at this hour.
  18. Hmm, not heard of that myself but after a bit of googling I found some info. When i head to Overlord next year, i shall be driving down to Poole harbour for a wander. Many thanks Handyferret
  19. I've been down to Wiltshire in the past to explore Monkton Farleigh and surrounding underground sites . I would like to see HMS Royal Arthur looks very intresting. Cheers 4 the tip :-)
  20. Mini update to thread, we managed to locate a deepshelter for a gun battery which is located over the cliff edge, we tried to find it in the snow, but without much luck, we were in the right area but couldnt see it for the snow!! There will be an update on the site in the next few days :-)
  21. I could knock that up for you mate  sorry, misread his post,
