  1. No problems.

I did this parade around 5-6 years ago, early start, alot of waiting around and it was raining. We was not to far from the back of the parade and by the time we crossed the start point the head of the parade had finished and was on there way home. Its a good parade and worth doing. Just remember no drinking the night before.

  2. Ian, that's great. Bloomin' 'eck, They are big arnt they?!:-D

I don't think mine has any hoops, but I have a pipe bender so I may trouble you for some measurements when I get round to that.

    Thanks again.

Just happens i have a few measurments. Should you need any others do drop me a PM.

  3. The 330 has a compressor driven from timing gears, then driving the injection pump. there is usually a take off point on the other side of the engine to drive a steering pump or vacuum pump. Other option is to convert to air over hydraulic, but that gets involved, looks like you will have to forego having power steering then :(

My Bedford is already "Air over Hydraulic" has a compressor mounted on the n/s and is belt driven, is that not the same on the AFS one

  4. hello all,

i'm looking to find a pre '60 english truck suitable for towing a 36ft 9 ton showman's wagon.

previously i've owned and fixed up all sorts of trucks, but nothing this old, so any thoughts as to what type to aim for - ie is a commer Q4 / bedford RL man enough for the job, or should i be thinking scammell?

    sam

I would say the Bedford RL is a bit to small for towing 9 tons, how about something like a Militant or Matador

  5. To take the subject further, even parking a large vehicle in your own drive, or on you own land can lead to problems.

    .

Over the last 8 years I have often parked my vehicle on my drive and have had no problems from the local council.

  6. As for the original question, you can tow up to a 750kg trailer on a C1 license. If you have C1+E you can tow any trailer, provided the combination does not exceed 12 tonnes MAM and the laden weight of the trailer does not exceed the unladen weight of the towing vehicle. See here.

    HTH :)

Agree with the above but do check your licence as sometimes there will be an "information Code" next to the licence category like "number 107" which then states "Not more than 8250kg" that being the combined weight of vehicle and trailer.

  7. Hi Ian,

Good to hear from you.I think I do remember you with the Bedford RLW, I also remember you having a cckw 352, am I correct ?

    Brendan

    Hi Brendan,

I still have the Bedford but the old man sold the GMC, he still wishes he had kept it. Hopefully catch up with you at a show sometime.

  8. Yep, that's pretty much how it was on Saturday - some very good living history displays, but very few paying public indeed (despite good weather) - it was heaving the last few times I've been. The MVs - such as they were - were parked around the road in a far corner - so 'far' in fact that I wasn't sure if they were really on dispaly or not!!

Still a good (but expensive) show for living history, quite good for stalls but forget it as far as MVs go!

    Peter

I was there saturday, arrived at 10am and took us 40mins to reach the cash desk. Agree regards the vehicles not many at all. Some good living history displays. On the whole it wasn't a bad show.
