  1. Hello

I've got a Ptarmigan cabin on the back of a DAF and was wondering about showing it in it's complete state before I start some modifications.

Would it be or any interest to the show and how do I display as the link to the forms appears to be dead.

    Pictures here:

    Thanks

    Glen

  2. The First Allied Airborne Association to deploy Armour at the 2012 Bunker Bash event

At this year’s Bunker Bash show the First Allied Airborne Association will be performing 4 combat displays down in the wood line involving a Sherman tank, Halftrack, GMC’s and several jeeps. The team ensure us this is the closest you will get to the real thing short of actually going to war. With the experience of working on many film sets, the group will be setting their scenes during the Normandy Breakout, Operation Cobra.

With the action taking place in the close confines of a wooded area and not on a flat field battle area normally associated with public events this will be the closest the public have ever been to the action.

While the main aim is to put on a good show for the visiting public, the FAAA will also be promoting their Army Nurse Normandy Memorial Project which the group including their female Army Nurses sub group Have been working on for over a year and will culminate this year with the Unveiling of a memorial in Normandy on the 8th June.

The group will be continuing to raise money for this project at the show and will be raffling off two rides in the Sherman Tank with runners up riding the Halftrack.

All proceeds will go to the Memorial project.

  3. Thank you for the entry form, although I can download one, receiving it just tipped the balance of decisions & so I have filled it in :-D

I was going to go to Amberley in Sussex, but for just over an hour's extra travel I can have 3 days of show not just barely 1 day. Besides I have never been before so it will be nice to have a change of scene & some different vehicles to look out. I'll just be in a Land Rover but any Humbers booked in I wonder?

    Hi Clive,

Be good to see you at the show, as for Humbers we might have something for you to see so could be worth the journey.

  4. So sorry to here of your loss, its going to be hard at times but with the love of your family and time things will get easier.

I suffered the same loss to cancer with my dad at christmas so if you need to chat please do contact me.

  5. Ian,

That plate helps, I know we have numbers all down the sides.

What about the method of securing? Do you have some pictures of those too?

By the way, where is that plate located?

    Thank you

    R

The plate was on the rear of the container on the left side. Sorry no pics of how it was secured. This one was on a Daf. You might be able to zoom in and see the hooks.

  7. A little over 3 weeks to go, and if you're quick, you may just be able to secure your MV entry to this show. The displays areas have been increased by over a third to accomodate everyone who wants to attend, with more living history & displays, more attractions, more armour, more vehicles, more stalls and undoubtedly more public. The organisers have ensured that those attending won't be packed in like sardines, like some other events you could think of, hence the reason remaining space is extremely limited.

Traffic management has been completely reviewed and reworked, so public access to the show should be quick, easy and 'pain free'. The entry price remains at £8 adults and £4 children, with a family (2 + 2) ticket costing £20, which is simply outstanding value for money, when you consider the size of the event, number of attractions and the afternoon Air Display, featuring Ellys B-17 Sally B and both of Maurice Hammonds P-51's, Janie and Marinelle.

There's a full evenings entertainment on the Saturday in the 700 person marquee, and it's almost guaranteed that you'll have a great weekend.

The information you need is here: http://www.militaryandflyingmachines.org.uk/whats_on.html

If you're coming along, make sure you come and say hi - you'll find us on the AAF Aviation Mechanics display.

Have already booked in online so see you there.

Price on the website is Adult £8, Children £3, Family (2 adults + 2 children) £20, Concessions £6

  8. I supplied the 2 caravans used at this event. nice to see they ended up giving enjoyment to so many people, better than the viking funeral that would have been there fate.

And we Thank You very much for the supply of the caravans for the show, it was good seeing Neil hit something he was surposed to hit :D
