  1. Hello Richard

Does this mean that brockhouse use Dyson Running gear as the wheel centres have dyson on and also the main bearing cover on the steering joint has dyson on it and also the main front axle has dyson cast in to it. What I do need for it are wheels I have been looking for some bedford RL wheels, any suggestions.

    Regards

    Howard

    Howard,

Looking at the above picture if there is only 8 studs then the Bedford RL wheels will not fit as they have 10 studs on the RL/MK/MJ etc

  2. Thank you very much to everyone. I couldn't sleep the other night, trying to figure out how to make sure everyone was happy. Mrs Beckeet even got up and made me a cup of tea. It is that important to me that everyone is happy. It would be vey very hard for me to do something like this if I didn't have everyones support.

I did here you was having a bad time Jack and was going to pop down with some biscuits but had an accident with them.

    Sorry :-D

  3. OK - playing Devils Advocate - if it's to be a two-day event, why not open to both era's and run one era the first day and the other era the second. If the WW2 vehicles were ran on the Sat the PW owners could have a chance of a ride and then vice versa on the Sunday...... Also cuts the fuel costs for the respective owners.....

If this is meant to be a HMVF event rather than another, general, MV show then by doing this it avoids alienating one group from the other. There's been enough WW2 vs PW controversy on the forum over the time it's been running - would it not be a good idea to try and heal the divisions??

Now thats a very good idea Neil and hopefully will be considered by Jack as this would then be including ALL HMVF members.

  4. I will apologise for going off the deep end - but understand - I get very upset when my profession is classed as brainless.

Mark I can see no reason for you to apologize for what you have written and I do think its time that some forum members think before they write on here. There does seem to be few members that are not happy unless they are winding others up and I think its about time they grow up or ship out and let the rest of us enjoy the forum with out all the B__S__.

  5. the middle axle is in place as you can see a bit of the mid axle tire in post # 22 so chances are the all the axles are in place and those on top have nothing to do with the vehicle .

    Correct abn deuce....

As far as i can remember both rear axles are on the vehicle, the wheels are off on the O/S rear and thats why it is leaning over. It has fire damage inside. To much work for me but would love one of these vehicles.

  6. Been quoted £330 to have her dropped off at Thurrock Services (just on the Esssex side of the Dartford Crossing but money is damned tight right now........

So - no idea how I'm going to play this one yet......

RR Services to Thurrock £330 for 48.5 miles (give or take). You already visited the petrol station last time you was down there go on drive it back.

  7. Ian,

I think the 1 ton FV2401 series of trailers were made by Sankey, Brockhouse or Rubery Owen, depending on particular Contract, there were several different body types.

Many thanks for the info Richard :

  8. Ian do you know the owner,i think that belongs to a mate of mine,if it is his we discussed it the other day it may soon be going to a new young owner which would be good.i did think of having it but i dont think i could put up with the speed.

Over the years a few of us tried to find out who owned the vehicle in the hope it might be for sale but the people with the details would not tell us. All I found out was he lived in London and had other vehicles which he used more regular.

  9. Adam,

I think Ian can answer that for you, but I do think they were used for the version carrying the two Onan gennys, because they were generally in the lowered position with the canvas over when in transit. This leads me to think that in use, the hoops were raised and the canvas being short on the sides, allowed air to get to the gennys.

My hoops are in a fixed position and cannot be lowered but you are right it was a genny trailer.

Data plate on the front of the trailer.
