the range is the best place for the samaritans and any sultans they may have. the ugliest and most unloved of the cvrt range!!!!
A good reason to buy one then :-D

Corsec has the right to criticise and air his views on whether he thinks its right and wrong, thats his right its supposedly what our Grandfathers, Grandmothers and relatives fought for in WW2 plus the wars that came after. You don't have to agree with him.
I can't see the point of building a replica when you can find one on the seabed, if you had to build another Do 17 it would cost far in access off £300000 if you had to pay the full price up front without volunteer helpers. Whether what comes up from the seabed is worth £300000 only time will tell, the museum certainly won't say that it is junk they will ask for more money to help with the restoration.

Hi Richard, it depends on various factors such as distance between poles or pylons and the current the line(s) carrries.
Safety margins range from about 4m from a 1Kv line to about 23m for a 220Kv line, this is for clearance below a line but it can run up to more than 40m for side clearance. These are only guidelines but after the distance I have seen current jump personally I would leave a much bigger margin.
We have Metrolink tram lines on the main road now all fully energised and trams running upon them. So no aerials on the Ferret any more.

Quite clearly Richard given your vast experience and you have worked on this equipment for a living, you do know what you are talking about.
Obviously my thoughts and yours run in a similar vein therefore it must be a mod worth doing.
Diana
Its your vehicle if you want to do the mods so be it I hope they make life easier which is obviously the intention.

When I was a nipper the lady next door and her husband used to say that during the Manchester blitz they had to run out at night and cover the incendiary (spelling)? bombs with sandbags. They have both passed away (thirty years ago) that little snippet almost died with them. More of those mundane things have already gone out of living memory.
I know where corsec is coming from I'm not particularly in favour of the Tank Museums efforts with the Tiger Tank when we have British vehicles not running and rusting in the storage yards. As collecting goes I can understand where the RAF museum and the Tank Museum our coming from, they want a complete collection that shows the victors side and the losing side of WW2.

I have had the receipt for the vehicle off Withams it doesn't come with the cast note as I suspect that was supplied to ABRO when it was sold to them. I asked Withams over the phone specifically if they would supply the cast certificate they said they would over the phone, they haven't.

Great pictures they might come in handy :-D

Anyway you only getting old when you think rap is not music and that's something to be proud of :-D
Rap never was music its just shouting and some turkey constantly bashing a drum loudly all the way through. Just my opinion I didn't like it when I was a kid still don't
Facebook has a place it just might not be your kind of place.
All the pictures you upload to Face/book, twitt/er, you-tube and others become the property of the company hosting the pictures. Its in the small print for face-book when you sign up
Nothing for free they all have shareholders who want you're pictures and videos and behaviour on line for marketing purposes.

I've towed the wide and narrow tracked 'sankey' trailers in the position it is on you're RB without any issues. Do you plan to do any major off roading with the trailer attached?

Rick Bondo-ing it not likely to expensive when you can use plaster that's readily available

Try blipping the accelerator pedal before you put it in 2nd gear, also change the oil in the gearbox. I found that I had issues with it going in gear from 2nd to 3rd and blipping the throttle made it easier. When the oil in the gearbox was changed it also helped with gear changes. Its probably a good idea to change as many fluids as you can as you don't know when they were last changed. Some RB44's had been sat for years before they moved to Withams.

Nice one looks great, the gearbox takes a bit of getting used to

Looks good a bit of work with the needle gun and it will look great

no if standard fuel pump ok no need to fit electric-one definitly not on must do list!
Agreed on that one
-
We have one fitted to ours as well.
So much better than taking off access plates, crawling underneath and getting dirty!
A definite one for the must do list.....
Diana
What about originality
lol
-
oh and why haven't u fitted one?
Never got round to fitting it, its somewhere in my bits honest :-D

Congratulations Andy, mind you with the company that you keep it was inevitable that at some point you would "need" a piece of tracked armour !
Of course the CVRT is a good choice, leaves you plenty of chance to move UP to a CET ! Not that you are unfamiliar with the internals having spent the best part of a day sorting out my comms !
John.
Its that MVT group in Manchester tracked vehicles everywhere, if you don't have a tracked vehicle you feel left out :nut:
I want one of these....
