The D-Day repro paperwork pack things you can get have an a3 version on the Omaha beach section (for a lot less than £35) :schocked:

Yes... I don't know if was an early one or a late one. It seems to have a slightly different style to the rest... fewer first hand accounts and more narrative.

About halfway through
A thoroughly good read.
A French fighter pilot in the RAF.
Written (according to the fronticepeice) from notes made at the time (some actually written in the henpit). It has a terrific sense of immediacy as though you're there with him in dogfights, patrols and strafing runs. Very matter of fact and not given to emotional outbursts he comes across as a very level headed "cool in a crisis" young man who whent through mill with the rest of the fighter pilots but was lucky enough to come out of it (relatively) in tact. Definately worth a look

Nah, not one of his best
-
Could be worse... it could have been someone who you really hated beforehand & he could have been flying in a real warbird... none of that modern nonsense :naughty:   :yay:
-
Going back though this one again at the moment.
Highlights the MASSIVE amount of training that went into getting a bomber crew into the air... with a very short life expectancy... the terrible waste.

Whilst repainting the rear bed of the Dodge I found about 15 spent .38 shells wedged down in the gap between the floor & the side
