  1. Dear Les. Can you tell me more about your model, is it the Airfix one or some other make, & what scale would this model be. I have heard about a resin Diamond T in 1/35th scale, would love to make it, but have never worked with resin so would hate to ruin £50's worth of model, any ideas on how to use this product. Would be graeat to see another DT book, and incedently many thanks for printing all of the photos I sent to you for the 1st book, shame you got my name wrong though. Regards from Richard Smith (dizzy-t)
  2. Adrian. Hi, dizzy-t here, very interested in your DT, just trying to decypher the photos and work out where abouts you & your DT are in Gloucestershire. Its now November 2009, so can assume that The DT is perhaps nearly finnished, any chance of coming to have a look at the vehicle, incedently you say that you are going to paint the DT in desert colours, if you have a copy of the book Diamond T by Les Freathy, you could use the photo on pages 4 & 248 for reference. I sent this photo to les for inclusion in his book, the original photo I have is from a news paper The Saturday Evening Post, dated May the 23rd 1942. I'm sure that les would'nt mind you using the photo for paint references, if you wish to see the original, please reply to this reply. Good luck with the rest of the restoration, looking forward to see her in the flesh. Incedently if she is up and running, what is your mpg?, I have heard that it was about 4 miles to the gallon?. dizzy-t
  3. Thanks for the introduction to the radio controlled DT, actually the Pacific was very good, but you have to try and find this, as its a couple of films further on. Many thanks. dizzy-t . Could'nt all of us Diamond T fans get together and ask some one like Hornby if they would make a Diamond T Tank Transporter, in a large scale, as it would be a best seller, I know that I would probably have some, think of all the model makers and DT enthusiasts. I have in my Corgi Diamond T collection, the Wynns set, The Pickfords set, plus two Wreckers, Renault & French Fire Brigade, I used to have all of them bar the house mover, but have kept the goods ones back.:yay::coffee:
  4. So why cant we have models like this to build, be something to look forward to when we retire, any body know of a good quality kit to make (not airfix 1.76th scale), i do know of a 1.35th scale, but its made of resin & costs about £50, I have never worked with resin, so would'nt want to waste £50 messing it up, so how easy is it to work with. dizzy-t
  5. What model kit is this & what scale is it please?, I need something to do, now that I am virtually retired. From dizzy-t.This applies to the Picfords model, fantastic, any idea who built it and what scale it might be?.
  6. My real name is Dick Smith & am known as dizzy-t, for obvious reasons, I am an ardent fan of the Old Diamond T, I used to work at a local Army camp in the late 1960's, where we had the last of the Diamond T's open cab and closed cab. I was one of the contributers of the book by Les Freathy, my photos appeared on many pages, including the advert for the DT on page 10 & 248, I bought this on ebay many years ago & it is dated May 23rd 1942. other photos I sent in are on pages 193, (top photo) Pigotts DT. Can any one tell me if there is a large scale model kit of a Diamond T to make, apart from the resin one, (I have never worked with resin, so dont know how hard it is to make the model.) I have never heard of a Diamond T club, thought some one would have got one going.

    Regards to all

    Dick Smith
