That was one of the things I liked at St Mere Eglise - the then and now photo's of the town .
-
Good luck Joris - hope all goes well for you!! :-)
But remember - marriage isn't just a word, it's a sentence...
A LIFE sentence!!

Ours had black on all panels in service if that helps. (S2/2A air-portables)
-
Thanks to Joris & Jack - made interesting reading!!!
-
I thought of the missile lights - but got hung up on the mention of the "pyrotechnics"!!
Good one Clive - thanks for the entertainment :-) :-)
-
Well - I've looked at the missile carriers in the pdf file - but I'm damned if I can see anything there similar. :-( :-(
OK - I give up - what are they???
-
Finally found some pics of the FV1620 on the web..... The 4 visible units - would they be mounted on the vehicle itself or on the missile carrier???
-
I know the feeling :-)
Home is a smal Lexmark X1100 A4 unit
Work is an Epson GT1200 A2 unit - which can do 4 A2 sheets in the time it takes the Lexmark to do one A4!!! :-o :-o
-
Or what price did you have in mind????
(if I bought it the wife would kill me but...............)
-
It's not really a book, just a very detailled article in the After the Battle magazine but I'll scan it and send it to you. I'll try to do it tomorrow evening but no guaranties.
Hi Joris - any chance of a copy of this at all???
-
, that Swingfire copied directly from Malkara.
I learn something new every day on this forum!! :-) :-)
Well simpler sems to indicate a light unit - only reasons I can think for having white lights - and you said 8 IIRC - on the rear of a vehicle is either as working/interior lamps or reversing lamps - but 8 units seem a bit excessive for the latter????
-
Bit too far for little Maud to get there but I hope all goes well for those attending and both you and the veterans have a memorable day!!
-
You have the advantage of me there sir - I never saw a Malkara unit..... Think it was swing-fire and rapiers in my day????
Really got me interested now as to what 8 PE cells would be used for in the rear of a missile launching vehicle.....
-
Used to denote empty missile holders????
-
Taking another wild stab here - if it's from the rear of the vehicle and it's some kind of PV unit - is it some kind of interlock to ensre the rear doors were closed prior to firring????
-
Hello and welcome to the mad-house!! Insanity here isn't advisable - it's compulsory!! :-D :-o
-
Happened to me Friday night at Beltring this year
Supposedly waterproof 2-man bivvy tent was about as waterproof as a piece of toilet paper......
-
Were they just fitted to your beloved Humbers or did other vehicles carry/use them????
-
I'm intrigued by the little bracket on it - it's ringing bells but the memory cells won;t work :-(
-
Not a lot - the pills are wearing off!! :?
Maybe a part of the comms kit??????
-
Looks like it's designed to fit into a 2-pin socket. That must limit the options - damned if I can remember anything that does though!!
-
Oh what a giveaway Neil! So you are one of the degenerates that reads Borat. So where do you get your pills from then?
But at least I didn't take the mistake to complete fulfilment by putting Elsan liquid in the B60.
From the NHS sir - and on an exemption cert too!!! That P8 discharge came in handy afer all :-) :-)
-
What - for those pills that aid memory so's you don't pour oil into the porta-loo????
Sorry - couldn't resist that one!!!!

Thought for a minute we were getting the HMVF version of Major Margaret "Hotlips" Houlihan!!!
