  1. I think I have found it..... Its shown as a new arrival on Dave Weedons web site. I have managed to contact him and the offer of hooking it up to the constructor once both restored is on the table..... Best I pull my finger out!
  2. Thanks John, Thats not so bad then... I have that plate so should be ok. Interested in the Ministry plate you have there. Your Gross train weight is shown as being 38 tonne and a design weight of 40... the same weights as the 20 tonner although your chassis number has it as a 35 Ton RE Tractor, the very last of contract 1 # WV10312. The 67th vehicle of 67! I also see that they have you down as 22.5 tyre size, is this a cock up on their part or have you changed rims etc? Want to run mine at the specified 61 tonne gross STGO cat 2 which will obviously mean a higher rate of duty and also higher axle and train weights.... Where will I be able to find out that info or will VOSA already have it for those vehicles.....? Any info you can give me regarding this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for posting the pictures.
  3. Hi Andy, Its for the Constructor. Crusaders always smoke like that..... :-D Sadly the block in it has a frost damage crack which I am hoping to have repaired by a specialist welding company. If that fails then I will build a new engine round the replacement I got when I bought the 35 tonner. Reported to be a good runner so felt the oppurtunity to buy it shouldnt be overlooked. Now all I need is a Constructor cab........:???
  4. 35 Tonner arrived home today!! Makes the Bedford look like a Dinky toy On the back is a spare engine and Darlington Chain Drive winch for the Super Constructor. Cheshire cat style grin here I can tell you Can anyone post a picture of the axle weight plate that should be on the nearside cubby box inside the cab. Mine doesn't seem to have one and I just know that its going to cause all sorts of Agro when i go to get it MOT'd....?
  5. I see a couple of "Accident Damaged" EKA bodied 6 x 6 Fodens are in the next Witham Tender. Guide price is £27500.00 No pictures as yet but going by the last tender where there were a couple of "Damaged" Foden DROPS they will be quite bad!!!
  6. Yes I have kicked myself several times over that S26 and trailer. I did bid on it a couple of times and then when I fainally decided to buy it it had been sold a few days prior! I was up at Rush Green a few weeks ago.... The Crusader and Trailer in question are still there. At least I think they are, so covered in brambles and moss etc you can never quite be sure. Found the guy quite difficult to deal with so didnt buy anything but may take a trip back and see if I can get a closer look. Need some info on your friend in preston as i need to get hold of the diff parts some time in the not to distant future. Nigel
  7. Mike, Yes she was at ABRO, done 20k since her visit there The EKA I will sell is shown on my site but not many pictures. Pretty much a full kit with her, bars, forks, chains, extensions, crane attachments etc etc. Fully registered as "Breakdown Vehicle" so MOT exempt and taxed for 11 months!! A little scruffy paintwise and a few dings here and there but a very useable truck all the same. 305 Rolls Eagle..... Can Deliver!! Thanks John It was a good day all in all. Dave had a nice chain driven winch for the constructor which I bought and a C6 Rolls which, if I have problems with the cracked block on Grahams one, will get me out of trouble. Is going to deliver as well..... Just need that Low Loader now and all will be right in my Scammell World! Thanks again for the heads up. Nigel
  8. Hi Mike, Thanks for that. Think I have it sorted. Same set up as Roland has in his "Roadhaus" set up. I havent given up on the S26 by the way, just need to part with one of the EKA's first.
  9. Managed to find myself a fairly clean 35 tonner to add to the collection... First job will be to find the Scammell badging for the front, second job will be fitting a set of high speed diffs, third job will be finding a nice Low Loader to go with it.... Any info will be greatly appreciated! A few more pics on my site....
  10. Great looking truck, thanks for sharing that with us. I found another shot of it on Miliweb but sadly I dont know where or when it was taken.
  11. Well I have to say they look rather nice! Heres a couple of shots before they were fitted And on the Crusader.... Nicely made and a very good fit on the truck. Anyone interested in these should PM Clive (ProTruck) for the deatails as he is the man that had them manufactured
  12. Thanks Antar, its now back in my yard complete with the truck. As they always say, the cheques in the post....:coffee: It was a long haul up there and an even longer one back but the grin on my face says it was all worth it. Couple of pre flight checks before heading out on the motorway and we were off! Several hours and a sore bum later...... More pictures etc for anyone that wants to see them on my Crusader Web Site..... Andy, You were right, it didnt even know it had it on... Only took it slow because I didn't want to boil what little oil there was in the front hubs!!!!
  13. Cheers Clive, As long as I can hook her up without using the extension, which I think I can, then we are wll within spec on the lifting capacity. That said I am wondering if a rear lift might be the better option. Have a feeling it will be a suck it and see job on arrival.... Last big one we pulled in with the old girl was a partially freighted 6x4 dustcart which weighed in at just over 17T and she wasnt bothered by that! Maybe see you later this week? All the best Nigel
  14. Brilliant! I am hoping to organise the pick up later this week but will let you know as soon as I can. I take it you are not far from Grahams place so may be worth discussing the 5th wheel etc before I come up to avoid a double trip at a later date.... Will keep you posted. Thanks Nigel
  15. John, Many thanks for that. It has now been won! and just working on the collection side of things. The 5th wheel will very much be of interest to me as will a "period" winch which was originally fitted behind the cab. My Crusader is happy upto to about 16 Tonnes on an underlift / suspended so will allow plenty of time for prop removal etc. Not sure that the 200 mile (Each way) trip will do much for free flowing traffic on the M6 / M1 but it will certainly be a sight to see! Many thanks again. Nigel
  16. Thanks for that Mike..... Looks like a job for a Crusader / EKA :-D
  17. Im looking forward to many hours of doing just that!...:-D:-D Anyone any idea of the weight of this one? I seem to be getting some conflicting figures :???
  18. Cant give you the bulb type by lamp application but if you post a picture of the bulb holders then I will give you the bulb number you need. Hope that helps. Failing that tke the bulb holder to a half decent CV factor and no doubt they will sort it out for you.
  19. Dont tell everyone, they will all want it!!! :-D And yes the opening bid is mine!
  20. So will my Bank Account balance  Seriously though, Cant wait to get them on, will post a couple of pics once done!
  21. If its the one I think it is it is registered as a recovery truck and MOT exempt. How that happened I hate to think! As you are not particularly experienced with HGV's I think it might be a great idea to either get it MOT'd properly or at the very least get it thoroughly checked over by a good HGV Mech... Loaded, its 26tons of hard to stop dead weight! Good luck on the Diffs
  22. Foden 6 x 6 EKA / Atlas Recovery for sale at RecoveryVehicles.com. Ex Forces, all there and can be seen working!! £52K is a bit out omy league though!! http://www.recoveryvehicles.com/heavypictures2.asp?id= 387
  23. Hi Welcome to the forum and Hertfordshire! Not a bad place to be and judging by a few people I have spoken to from this site quite a few Military equipment owners in the county as well. Enjoy
