All the Rock signs were marked with SQN no in the top left for Rapier and CVRT and the bottom letter is flight and vehicle number
TSF at RAF Catterick later became 4001flt was marked in the same way 4001 top eft with vehicle fleet number bottom right
Easy enough to make one up if you know the Rapier field sqn numbers for that period.
-
51 SQN and vehicle D2 was at RAF Catterick in the 80,s
cant tell you the vehicle its off though
Christian
forgot to add its a CVRT SQN

Only a thought! goes on the black peaked cap the station officer wears, and maybe the others aswell. I can remember at Lyneham it was a civvie crew in the 80,s and they never wore hats but the SO did.

the RAFP used 12v soft tops and it was orange stripe with the 1 inch black band either side They also had the black and red raf police plates detachable front and rear.
As for Rapiers I never saw the 1 inch band on RAF gear, maybe the Army had them like that so that they were better targets on excerise!
-
The RAF MT ones normally had the yellow stripe, Rock ones were cammed or plain green no stripe, or you could have RAFP with an orange one:-D
