  1. Hi, I have a no 11 radio set as pictured, I would like to build the bracket and tray that it sits in too to install in a 1940 Bren gun carrier, does anyone have an original tray I can access to photograph and measure to make the tray and bracket please. Thanks Kevin.
  2. rick, you thought it was yours because the name and 'T' number had been expertly painted to replicate the original!....... Years of research went into you know.
  3. Adrian, thanks for the info, I have an original oil pressure gauge on loan which we took out of a Centaur dozer 1943. Will post some pics, it's 0 to 100 P.s.i.g, I can make a sealed sender unit and adapt to operate like an original.
  4. Hi, No not rebuilt as yet but I now have all the parts to do the job, only have another pic from the pond of certain death.
  5. No just the gauge, thread fitting on the back so can make the tube and fitting to suit. Old Git, You asked for some photos, here is a few from today, 2 pins out in 4 hours, believe me that's good going, also a picture of the Molasses pit of Doom!, much easier in 1/35th scale. kevin.
  6. Lance, Thanks for posting the pictures, I will now hi - lite the wording around the dash dimmer switch (which I ALSO NEED FOR MINE). I managed to pick up the correct oil pressure gauge today. kevin.
  7. I have restored a Centaur dash i borrowed and made some replica ones, I am looking for the correct fuel gauge for my dash like the one pictured and a Smiths temperature gauge in degrees F (250 highest reading), if anyone can help.
  8. Rick, You didn't find it up on milk crates with the wheels missing, it's in Manchester after all !. To have a set of 20 Chieftain wheels machined and drilled cost me 3K plus £40 quid each for a NOS wheel, so that's less than £200 a wheel and you benefit from more modern rubber compounds. kevin.
  9. u Here a Centaur plates marked WT, could it be associated with the tank being armour plated?, I heard they were knocking them out in plain mild steel in some cases.
  10. Hi, I will check it out, another question is the colour of the dash, I have seen them painted in black, but this Centaur one had white/cream painted on the back, any advice would be helpful.
  11. Gents, Does anyone know a source or has some of these special shock absorber mounts found on the dash, if not i will have to make four from scratch. kevin.
  12. Tobin, google 'Midwest Military' Go to the Bren gun carrier spares page, John at Midwest has cast steel copies of the original carrier ones, I would say the T16 'snail' would be the same. I use a modified ratchet strap (end hooks ground down to profile a smaller hook) to pull the links together. The original track jacks are best kept for display purposes only. regards Kevin.
  13. Hi Adrian, when referring to dreamers I mean myself!!.
  14. Rick, it's looking great, I know it's been difficult but what an achievement, something to be proud of, a peace of history restored for future generations to marvel at!, not many would have persevered as you have, others talk about doing it and collect piles of parts, dreaming about the finished result, you have been 'hands on' and got it done. well done!.
  15. Rick, Who was the commander during this event?. I recall at War and Peace when you were reversing into your parking spot, I gave a signal to the guy at the front of the tank to stop, but you still came back a good 18 inches, Daf was parked behind side on, good job an early instruction was given. Is there a sense you are not actually moving when driving on of these ?. kev.
  16. Hi, This jack would work in horizontal position if the jacking valve piston was located at the lowest point towards the ground, no oxy acetylene was used. I have located some new pin material and plan to make new pins with a circlip on one or both ends. I would like some loose links if you have any Bob?, but have a full set off a Centaur dozer with very little wear. kevin.
  17. Hi. Update, been spending the last few weeks breaking down a set of track from pounds scrap yard into 7 sections per track, it's not been easy, currently the track is 10% free, next step is to immerse each section in molasses for min 6 weeks. Then into a modified fly press to work it free. Had to build a hydraulic 20 ton rig to push the pins out, On a good day I managed to get 4 pins out!. It was necessary to break down the track into manageable sections to ease the handling. This stuff is not light!. Kev.
  18. Hi, has anyone got pictures or video from the arena on the Sunday ?, particularly the morning vehicle parade and 12:00 tank parade?. thanks Kevin.
  19. Hi, the ww1 tank, is this a short version, will the proper 'war horse' one be there?. Kevin.
  20. Pete, Here is Rick receiving the awards.
  21. Rick, Dont use 'ATHENA' as thats what mine's called. Picture of 'Old Bill'attached. kev.
  22. Hi rick, Cromwell with turret on looks great, I am going down on the Monday and if you need another pair of hands to help I'm all yours. This will certainly spur on the centaur restoration, see you soon have a safe journey. kevin.
  23. Hi, If anyone needs vehicle transport to war and peace this year, going down next Monday and coming back on the Sunday evening or Monday, we have a spare space on the lorry, (craned beavertail). If anyone is interested in the south Norfolk, Beccles/Lowestoft/Norwich area please let me know, there and back would be £300 total. Kevin. kevinpowles@btinternet.com kevin.
  24. Hi Adrian, yes about three weeks ago, same dealer who sold the 50k carrier. kevin.
