This is a well worth event attending as one of our members and his wife can certify after being involved in an horrific accident

I might drag the old 16H over in 2014 the last time was in 1994 when bikes were few and far apart
that's if the old bones can stand it lol

The reason BSA M20's spares are more easily available is because they used to break down that often
they had to keep plenty of spares on the shelf
Now a Norton 16H is a quality piece of kit

The only bargains I picked up was 4 brass oil bottles that fit in the butt to hold the sling
for the U.S. M1 carbine at £1.oo. each. Bargain

That you would want to keep a Montego running amazes me

I see a lot of modern vehicles that to be honest should not be on the road i.e. bald tyres, worn brakes, and tin worm
and these are on vehicles with an MOT if the owner/driver cannot be bothered to check on his daily vehicle he will not
on his historic vehicle no matter what we say these type just don't give a toss and at any MVT event it is the duty of the
MVT safety officer on site to check any vehicle that may cause concern I am sure we have all had the gremlins strike when
you are out and about and it is usually the thing that you think is ok when you set out all you can do is like we have to do
every time we take a truck out walk around it and do a visual check it will only take 5 mins but could pick up a problem
before it becomes serious

Ref your statement below where do you get your facts from or do you just think them up out of thin air
"There are large untested mvs running around with potentially dangerous faults"
over to you

The most important thing to change is the fuel filter in my mind if this is gunged up
it will slow the flow down and give you crap performance

G6HCK is I think my call sign must admit to not being on for 20 years or so
though must get up in the loft and see if my kit is still there

While it is down I would replace the end crankshaft seal on the clutch end and
also the little fibre gasket that goes on the gearbox shaft that fits into the engine
as both of these need a major strip down to replace
