Been there done it and to be honest the last few years I think it has lost the plot
they are so successful with pulling in Joe public we seem to be more of a nuisance
to them so sorry you will not see me there this year

For those of you who knew Ray and also those who only knew him from his posts one of Rays wishes
was that his ashes be scattered in Normandy a place he visited often here is a short clip

The tyre pressures stated in all these old manuals are wrong I find that they are for cross ply tyres
where nowadays most are radial also the side wall rating was a lot higher than modern tyres check
on the side wall of the tyre for the recommended pressures for the tyre fitted my Dodge runs at 50psi
you can always ask the manufacture if unsure what they recommend

I se you have fitted a new coil is it the correct one jeeps need the old fashioned coil
not the coils fitted to modern cars they will work but not very efficiently also when it
starts to play up feel the coil if it is warm/hot it is knackered

Sounds like a valve seat has come loose to me or a broken valve spring

The only problems we have encountered with taking deacts to Normandy has been with the ferry company
if you have not told them beforehand they refuse to let you take them so we always tell them now what we
are taking and a copy of the deact certificates one year they made us take the axes of the side of the vehicles
and put them inside and one year they made us empty any petrol that was in the jerry cans on the jeeps and
Dodges and fill the vehicles to the brim I think it is just who you get at the port when you sail and regarding
Customs/Douane in France they do not accept deactivated or replica grenades or Nazi/SS memorabilia these
they confiscate on the spot

There are 2 alternatives bite the bullet and buy a deact which at worse you get your money back in full
or it goes up in value and going by current trends this is what happening or buy an airsoft and you will
lose money when you sell it simples

There is so many differences between the 2 BAR's if you are doing a WW2 impression
it sticks out a mile even the magazines are different and will not interchange and to be
honest the last Belgian BAR which I had for sale took ages to sell and it was a lot less
you have to remember that for every collector/reenactor doing post war there is 100
doing WW2 so simple lesson in supply and demand

Well just got back from the Malvern Militaria Show where we had a stall things were going along quite nicely lots of old friends to meet up with and chew the cud talking about going to Normandy etcc just after lunch
we had a visit from the thieving scum how nicked a WW2 deact Tankie .38 pistol and a 9mm blank firing Walther PPK these were stolen from right in front of me and I did not see a bloody thing I tell you now the next person I catch steeling from me or anyone else I will sort out myself ok rant over

It is a personal choice if you are doing the Dodge in U.S. colours if you are going British there is just the one I think

I thought they had changed the law about smooth boring rifles to turn them into shotguns
Commander

And also remember when you fall off or get knocked off your bike all this messing around with it can cost you your life
so either buy the right size or get a modern helmet that is the right size a pudding basin one with a sting net on looks ok
