does anyone know if the wc42, used only by the british, poles and commonwealth forces, ever saw action in north west europe. pictures of this vehicle in service are few and far between and i have seen no reference of them being used other than north africa,sicily and italy.i have seen the set of british army reference/recognition pictures in the iwm. this shows a wc42 in mickey mouse camo,a brief shot of one in the 1942 film the way ahead and only a a few more pictures in sand colour.there is a well known picture of a wot 2 ? in a vehicle park full of mvs waiting for d day !. in the background i can just make out some panel vans . did they go to n.w. europe?

chevvy 1.5 tonners were used as turret trainers too

re the dodge gallery one of the wounded guys on the dodge seems to be wearing the marine type camo overall . sometimes these were mistaken for the similar waffen ss spotty camo with fatal results . it was soon dropped in the european theatre of war

forgive my ignorance but is this the place to ask questions etc or should i be clicking on some particular place in this forum

dodge wc42 and bsa folding "para" bike

it works! about myself, i have a 1/2 ton dodge wc42 and a folding bsa "para" bike oh and a ford mondeo... i am into military vehicles, militaria and aircraft. a hobby that has bought me into contact with some fine people. i live in manchester u.k. i am proud of our armed forces past and present and the sacrifices they and our civilians made. i just hope they would think we deserve it !!
