  1. Just my thought.

When a vechicle is in service with a unit they mod it to suit there needs. My old unit had a turretless ferret that the oc used, now that is not as it came out the factory. We modded our foxes to suit us with extra bins normal off cheftain plus a extrnal gpmg mount. even some of the spartans had a microwave in them. Plus the reme 4 tonner that had a bar built in. So when they leave the army and go for aution all these bits are removed. So when someones buys them and dos them up back to fctory spec thats not as they were. If i bought a sabre or fox it would be refitted back to the spec it was when it was in my troop. Now some of you may say thays not original but thast how it spent its life. Like how meny of you have sen a fox with a copila mount gpmp. Its not orignal but.

Anyone know where i can find the ex R.E.M.E 4 tonner with the built in bar sounds like my kind of vehicle :yay:

  2. Lovely, interesting to see those kit boxes on the back of a "Mk 1" did they come with it?

Are those Jerry cans underneath them?

The kit boxes and jerry cans were fitted when this vehicle was restored some 20 years ago , the owners kitted it out to the same specification as the one they operated when serving with the R.E.M.E .

  3. Just canvassing opinions and thoughts here.

I'm told that it is "impossible" to get the same shade of semi gloss deep bronze green twice from the same company. Apparently the gloss is a BS colour can be replicated without variation but there is no formulation for the semi gloss variety because the matting agent varies.

    True or false?

Slightly annoying because there is a Pioneer here looking like a patchwork quilt. :argh:

Reminds me of that old irish song "forty shades of green":-D

  4. OK NXC 511 D on chassis number 33500001A, IIB diesel No1

My dads landrover was a 12 seater station wagon reg no MXC417D he bought it from a doctor who had bought it back from Africa .

It was fitted with michelin sand tyres and was my mums first car , dad wasnt very happy when mum called one day and said it had broken down and that there was smoke coming from the "bump" in the back axle ,the crown wheel had sheared its bolts from the carrier bearing !!!:shake:

  5. They would of been used for any job rover wanted be it demonstraters or off rd exhibts.look for very clean chassis etc or signs of repaint sand in corners etc,if they were on the off rd course they would of been pressure washed evey day.:shake:

G110WAC is now eastnor green but the paint underneath is Sand colour ,the interior is a lot newer than the rest of the vehicle and it was sold from a main dealer in lincoln at about 4 years old .

  6. Anyone know anything about the landrovers registered with G WAC registration numbers i know the first discoverys carried this series of numbers but what about the 90 110 defenders G90WAC AND G110WAC what were these used for they were both registered by Landrover

  7. We put down a 3to 1 layout to recover the digger using the winch on the pioneer returning the rope onto the militant mk 3 anchor

The pioneer was anchored using the scotch pans under the front wheels these are able to hold the 8 ton pull from the winch , the bulk of the anchorage was from the militant rear spade .

THE SMOKE CLOUD IS FROM A LARGE BONFIRE BEHIND THE DIGGER AND NOT FROM THE AEC OR THE SCAMMELL HONEST! :):)
