You can put a few brass screws in the threaded part to fix it and than cut the thread in them too.

Strange the sidecar has it's own acetylene generator.

We had a Peugeot van. I put this aluminum insulation foil that they put behind radiators on the roof with double sided tape. Than i screwed in a plate of laquered plywood. Worked very nice. Just a few self tapping scews will do.

Ok you are right, on the other pictures it looked like a wood grain. You could try to locate some of this stuff at a firm that reconditions big electric motors. Isn't it also called pertinax?

I have one of those house moisture eaters in the car. It's a lot cheeper but, ou have to empty it sometimes. But it's a small car.
Could ventilation not help? Make something that can be put on top of the door windows.

I had a modern trickle charger that didn't recognise the battery when it was to low and it did shut off.... So i had to hook up an old charger with only an on and off button. This did the trick. Good luck.
@67burwood. A friend wanted an amp meter in his car that could also mesure the amps from the starter... he ended up in completly melting his dash...😁

I was at a French oldtimer dealer once, he showed us a big wooden crate he just found. In putting aside the woodwool there were a lot of NOS Bleriot head lamps, marvellous...

The seller says it are 1917 Peugeots. I can see a red cross on one side and an USA flag on an other vehicle. I am not shure if it really are Peugeots. Fiat? The cars are fitted with Michelin disc wheels.
