  1. In the Alsace town of Mutzig in 1940 they dug a big trench in the mainstreet to stop the advancing germans. As they took the town they had to fill the ditch fast to advance their vehicles. So they took an captured Renault FT-17 tank and dumped it in the ditch and filled it over with dirt. It was later asfalted over. So now the big question is the renault still there? At your shovels...:-D

  2. Another picture from a civil french quad in a ditch. It came from a 30s magazine from the Alsace region.

    Drive train nicely visible.

p.s. how is the quad doing that started this thread?

  3. The french seemd to like it very much. I once did see an old picture of an fairground showman with 2 quads on the move with trailers. The man was from the department Aube. The 2 quads on the pictures too. So it might even be the same trucks??

  4. As promised the pics. first an overal view than an retouched pic for details. Sorry for the quality i didn't have a better camera a the time. Wonder if it is still out there. Must be in an little village between Bar sur Seine and Les Riceys.

  5. Some 20 years ago a friend in france pointed out a Quad to me that was laying near a farm. I will post the picture i made later. And a few kms on there was a 2nd quad in a little car museum in Les Riceys. The museum is shut down now but the vehicle might still be in there.

  6. Hi my name is Fer and i am a great fan of old vehicles. Most of my cars are Citroens (the youngest is 32 years old). I am also very much interested in history. So your forum is a great combination off those. In the past i had a 1953 Minerva TT (belgian Landrover Licence). A great car but i swapped it for a 1925 citroen that is in the proces of beeing completely rebuild. Always i am on the lookout for old stuff on the belgian and french fleamarkets. Also old vehicle pictures i like very much.

    Regards Fer
