  1. Good advice 👍 out of interest Ron what’s the part code for the steel clutch plates....?
  2. Thanks Ron, that’s really helpful. I have just bought some of the roller bearings, that for the link! I have noticed that only 3 plan clutch plates were fitted instead of 4 🤔 am I correct in thinking that today’s part number is 57-1363?
  3. Thanks Ron, I seam to remember the throttle barrel being a longer type, funnily enough the one I have soured for this bike is very long hence my asking, I didn’t know if it would need cutting down. After inspecting the clutch components further it appears that I a missing parts 79, as shown on the age below.
  4. Ron, I took you advise and ground the stand down slightly so it sits a little more stable. It now back in the spray booth......
  5. Can anyone confirm the length of a 3SW throttle barrell please?
  6. After inspecting the clutch and primary drive parts it appears the previous owner negated to refit some crucial components hence why the gearbox picked up on two of the bushes. The parts which I do have are now inspected and cleaned
  7. Star washers finally sourced and fitted, and some of the control cables routed.
  8. Side stand clips now fitted and looking really good!
  9. Most of the rewireing done and connected up, and the missing regulator mounting bracket manufactured and dry fitted....
  10. Today has seen nearly 12 hours of work on the 3SW in the quest to break the back of the reassembly...... Handle bars and some control levers on.....
  11. By chance has anyone had first had experience light resorting/renovating a Smiths 80mph period speedo or is it best to seek ‘professional’ help? I fancy a go at it but would hate to spoil it......
  12. Thank Ron, your good! I’m going to ask a harder question next time........is that left and right when you face the bike or when your sitting on it?
  13. I am also after the screw on brass bezel for the smith speedo......
  14. By chance can anyone confirm the size/thread of the nut securing (off side) spring star washer......see enclosed ?
  15. I just knew you would spot that Ron 😀, I might need to give it a lick of paint now.....😉 Yes the weeks are passing quickly I would like to have it road worthy by the end of March. A very helpful friend is currently repairing the petrol tank which is in an extremely sorry state. I mentioned it was leaking from the seams, his reply was “that was because there are no seams left”
  16. I have avoided the wiring for too long so that’s the next job!
  17. Battery holder and reproduction 1940 WD battery (well battery box) now also on the bike, you may well see the field stand also positioned on the bike (the cable tie is only temporary 🙂)
  18. The inner primary chain casing scrubs up well, it was nice to see traces of the original kharki paint on it, which I have left......
  19. Headlamp brackets and headlamp shell fitted with the switch panel placed in situ, now complete with the correct 4 position light switch and newly resorted CZ27 ammeter......
  20. So I managed to get a days work on the bike this weekend, progress was a little slower than I hoped but all the same progress is being made. The gearbox and engine has now been fully bolted and secures into the frame, it proved frustratingly time consuming to aline and secure each of the bolts, but I got there.
  21. That’s a good suggestion! My stand is currently off the bike so I am going to do the same. The stand just appears so flimsy I have very little confidence it but that will need to be rectified before I leave France this year.!
  22. Out of curiosity, does any other 3SW owners find the rear stand has a lack of sturdy ness? Unless the bike is on the flat it has a tendency to rock of the stand? Maybe it’s just mine?
