Swill1952xs
Occasionally in my odd moments of boredom, I look up famous people on Wikipedia just out of curiosity, and to find out whether they are still alive. I was reading about harry Secombe's Army career and how he met Spike Milligan. If you look up the link and read the Army career section; there's a really funny story involving a large piece of artillery and comments made after the event. I'm sure those of you who were gunners will find it very amusing. I certainly did. :-D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Secombe
snowtracdave
Would that be the 'Can we have our gun back' episode ? Remember hearing him talk about it many years ago .
Dougiebarder
Have you read the one for Michael Bentine? It seems almost unbelievable that he should be barred from serving to start of with, almost gets killed at call up, and ending up advising THEM.
