Springfield Machine Tool Company of Ohio Lathe.

I think this is the 'Ideal' model and dates from the 1920's or earlier. (http://vintagemachinery.org/mfgindex/imagedetail.aspx?id=7574)

This has been in my families commercial garage in Beccles, Suffolk for many years, it was once a black smiths and agricultural engineers. The building is being redeveloped and this has to be removed. It would be a shame to have to scrap it, we've contacted several local museums and no one is interested.

This forum is read by many people with a wide variety of interests, hopefully someone here can offer it a good home or knows someone who can.

Overall it's ~3m long, ~36cm wide & ~90cm tall. It's belt driven (by an old electric motor now) and has a large number of fittings and tools etc. I have no idea of the state of it I'm afraid, it could be rusted or worn beyond repair, please see the pictures here for an idea -> http://s377.photobucket.com/user/josimm13/library

We are open to any offers, but you've got to take it apart and take it away, given the size, weight and the small room it's in this could be a challenge! Work starts on the building around Easter so it needs to be gone by then.

If you would like more information, pictures or even to have a look at it please contact me.

Thanks,

Andrew
