Redherring
I have been puzzled for some time by a photograph of a chain-driven charabanc with a radiator reminiscent of the Milnes D. rad. http://transpressnz.blogspot.com.au/2011/04/english-charabanc-1913-maybe-less-fun.html There is actually a second photo of a similar unit or perhaps it is the same unit with a different body. Try googling... "forge valley charabanc" Can anyone tell me what it is, who and where it was manufactured? Robert

Robert Robert, Apparently built on a FIAT chassis for a railway company in North East England. http://www.scarboroughmuseumstrust.org.uk/our-venues/collections/objects/146-charabanc.html
Richard Peskett
The vehicle is a 40 h.p. Fiat new to the North Eastern Railway Co. in April 1907, fitted 34 seat charabanc body. The N.E. Railway were quick to extend the tourist market by running charabanc trips in connection with their railway services. The Great Western railway also did this but to a much greater extent.
